all right ladies...i need hair help!!

i have rather long hair, which i do plan to cut maybe to my shoulder blades before the trip.
but, im going in august and it will be really hot. i dont want to sport a pony all week, but i also dont want it down where it will just bother me.

so what do you ladies do?

I tie mine back and thread it through the back of a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes.

There's no point in fighting Florida humidity. It always wins.

Me, too, always a ponytail. August is usually very hot and humid - don't cut it too short to be able to pull it up!! Have fun.

A nice french braid looks nice, stays put desptie humidity and water rides. I love putting my hair up in the pony/through the cap or have the french braid.

I usually put it in a french braid or a twist using mei fa sticks. It keeps it off my neck.

I'm going in August, too. For me, it will be way too hot to even think of wearing my hair down any day that I'm there. I'll be sporting the pony all week long!

I live locally and have resisted cutting my hair back to my usual (pre-Fl days) chin length bob. I need enough to pull up in a scrunchy off my neck! The sun is trying to kill both me and my hair

I have long hair also and live in new orleans. Same great weather as in Disney and I always wear my hair in a clip most of the time in the summer. And I wear a visor to keep the sun out of my eyes. Helps keep me cool.

I wear mine in either a plait ot a low pony tail at my neck. I don't like a high traditional pony tail for 2 reasons:

1. I can't get my ears on when hair is like this.
2. I can't put my head back on ride head rests comfortably.

Wearing it down gets uncomfortable very quickly with the heat and humidity. I wore it down one night and had to buy some Disney bobbles to tie it up after a couple of hours it was driving me nuts. Plus after you've you've been on BTMRR, Splash, Pirates and Space Mountain it looks an absolute state anyway

I will be going in Sept. and likely my hair will be in a bun all week. My hair is really long, to the top of my pants long, and I'm keeping it that way, so I will be having a bun so I don't get a weird suntan on my back from having a ponytail hanging down my back.

I usually plait my hair also as it is so long right now I can sit on it. Going to get it cut before I go away to probably waist-ish length. Anyway, I think the plait works really well for WDW as you can wear hats/ears/visors, it is mostly kept off your back and when on a ride, it doesn't stop you from putting your head back comfortably. I also like the fact that you can put your hair in a plait while it is still wet and not have to worry for the rest of the day.

I use a claw-type clip to pull it off of my neck and higher on my head - can't stand it when hair is sticking to my neck! I'm trying to figure out a new technique to use it, though, because I will have to wear a hat at least some of the time (September heat) and won't be able to get a hat on the way I normally wear it.

I would like to know this too!! I look silly in a ponytail, and my hair has the consistency of cotton candy in the humidity. Any other suggestions besides a ponytail? ( I have perfectly straight hair) Thanks!!

It is just another word for a pleat or braid. I would normally call it a pleat because I'm Scottish although I said plait as it is a little more common and I would refer to a braid as a little pleat/plait that would be done multiple times over the head. To confuse you even more, when you have two pleats/plaits we call them pigtails. HTH with understanding my crazy words and terms.

I had my hair cut to a chin length bob at the beginning of summer (thick curly hair) and while it looks cute, I'm letting it grow in again. I cut it because I was sick of putting it in a messy bun every day in the summer (you know, the ponytail that you pull through the elastic again but not all the way). Well, guess what? I am still putting it up every day! My hair is just so thick that even a shorter cut isn't enough. I either need to go back to the Mia Farrow look (which I did like) or just grow it long the way my hair should be and wear it up all summer.

So, I'm letting it grow back in and, yes, I will pony/bun it for our trip in Sept. There's really not much else you can do in that humidity.

I have hair to the top of my bra strap, and find that putting it up in a hair clip is more comfortable than a pony. I'm not sure why, but ponytails tend to give me a headache after awhile. It also seems easier to re-do when it gets messy.

I also have long hair, about 4 inches past the bra strap - I usually use a butterfly clip - the type you squeeze to open the jaws... I find ponytails just unbearable after an hour or so. I also pull it into a low ponytail at the nape of my neck and then split it above the band and flip the pony thru the hole (do this at least twice) and you get a neat roll that covers your pony holder....

Also, I've never been so hyped on a hair product before, but after 30 years of dealing with straight hair that frizzes and fuzzes at the slightest hint of humity, I have found that Sunsilks Anti-Poof (blue bottle) shampoo and conditioner work amazingly well! On the 4th of July, I used them in the morning (it was 89 and misting rain and wayyy humid) I blew out my hair, and even after a morning of misty rain and humidity, it was still bone straight! Amazing - normally I would have looked l had a bad perm. I'm sold on the product, and it only like $3 a bottle!
