All Of Walt Disney World On DVD"

I think I'll get them. Checking the quality from the previews I didn't think it was bad. A little grainy but thats my computer. On DVD, it will be better.

I also decided to order them. I'll let people know what I think. The preview video looked pretty good on my work computer but didn't work well on my home computer. They do point out the quality is for preview only and will not be the quality of the DVD.

Geeez for 100 bucks a pop i'll take my camera to WDW and make the best DVD's you'll ever see.... as long as I can guarantee at least 15 people to buy them... That way I can go to WDW again without having to see the entire world through the lense

DO NOT PURCHASE VIDEOS FROM ROB ALVEY!

His quality might be ok, (which is questionable in itself) but he breaks park rules to get videos, taking videos on rides that very explicidly state that cameras are not allowed on those rides. He also shoots his videos without permission from the park, sometimes in blatant disregard to the park. In so doing so he has put other riders at risk. He has been banned from several parks including all Cedar Fair parks (Cedar Point included) for blatantly not following park rules, and in my humble opinion should not be supported.

Support groups and people that follows park rules and gets good information and media the RIGHT and ETHICAL way, that's what we have ALWAYS done with Theme Parks Magazine and I will stand behind saying that our quality is the best in the business... period.

Whoa! Look at those prices on relivethemagic.com! :scared1:
It's highway robbery.

Jlovesee, no offense, but what UTTER rubbish! He does not sneak into parks and rides to film, in fact, quite the opposite! On his recent tour of Europe he was regularly invited to mount his lipstick camera on the front of the train, and makes his opinion on unauthorised filming quite clear over the pages at http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17014&start=0 . He has not been banned from Cedar Fair parks, he owns an annual pass, and all of your other accusations were all false.

For someone in the industry, you're quite out of the loop (pun intended!).

Really... so if I know personally senior permanant staff at Worlds of Fun (a Cedar Fair park) who all say he absolutly not welcome there... Im lying... I'm sorry he might be welcome in Europe, but as far as I know he is certainly not welcome at most parks in the US. And you cannot hide the fact that most of the on ride videos he has where taken illegally. You know those signs that say no loose articles? Well a camera is considered a loose article to most parks.

I only know of one park (outside of Disney) that even allows you to tape a camera to your hand and thats Silver Dollar City which he did recieve permission from. Anyway I am not trying to get into an argument, but I think people have the right to hear the facts before they blindly follow someone they do not know.

End of Discussion on Mr. Avery

Yes, I hate spamming up this thread, but still, I can't resist adding, http://www.themeparkreview.com/sdc2005/wof1.htm .
When was he banned?

You should contact Mr Alvey himself, so he can inform you of his perspective on the situation so you can derive an opinion of him from there. He has a membership here, so even just PMing him is possible.

I also am not blindly following him, I know him as personally as a person could without a one to one meeting. I wouldn't hurry to defend a stranger.

I was tempted to buy the DVD at the Disney store at MCO, but $30 each seemed too steep and I couldn't find the boxed set anywhere. Ergh. Maybe next time.

Is this an amateur production? It sounds as if someone with a video camera shot extensive WDW scenes and burned them to DVD. Not that it might not be enjoyable, but I would think it's far from what you'd expect a professional production to be.:earsboy:

Anyone that pays that much for a video like this....deserves to get screwed over. This has SCAM written all over it.

I have the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts DVD Collection with the Happiest Celebration on Earth logo on it. After wanting it since our most recent WDW trip, I purchased it while at DL for approximately $90, since it was the exact same box set.

I was actually disappointed in the 5 DVDs. I was expecting more about the HCOE and the quality wasn't the greatest. I was hoping for more updated footage too.

I am surprised that more people are not commenting on this. This website pops up quite a bit in the world of Disney websites

My pop swatter gets them every time...

Just looked at a couple of the previews on the website. What's up with the rapid in and out zooms, the tilting left and right of the camera and the darting pans back and forth to each side of the attraction?

I think watching the DVDs would give me a massive headache.

Actually the only reason certain attractions ask that you don't videotape is because they a) don't want external lights during certain rides and b) it could be hazardous (such as Rock n Rollercoaster or Star Tours) to yourselves. If it were less expensive, I would definitely get a hold of the DVDs.

The 5 disc set is a waste of money. I purchased them and they are only 30 minutes and odn't even attempt to go over all of the attractions. The Animal Kingdom DVD is the only one worth it.

I read somewhere that someone else said basically the same thing! Totally not worth the amount of money for such a short amout of time.

I agree with a previous poster...get a camera of your own and take the videos. We did almost every year we went. Not only were we able to make 10 DVD's from our October trip, but we've put up a website to share clips from our trip with our family and friends. It's a lot of fun to do, plus the process keeps your disney trip in front of you every time you work on either (the web page or the DVDs). I highly recommend taking both a digital camera and a camcorder. You can take pictures of your(self) and your family/friends with characters and at rides/locations and then use the video camera for action stuff.

I have got what your talking about

Before you go paying $99 for what looks like a copy as they are homemade .
