It has not been a good situation; our school district is finally back in session today but neighboring districts are closed the rest of the week due to damage and/or students being flooded out and in shelters. DH works in road management for the county (he happens to be on medical leave now; knee replacement surgery last week) and just spoke with his boss. In the section of the county they're responsible, out of 240 miles of roads, they have 169 miles in need of repair
. There are washouts on State roads that are 60' long, 23' deep; bridges are gone...washed away. Disaster declaration has been signed but long road of recovery ahead.

That's crazy! Stay safe and dry.
A little bit of the flooding in our area, this was taken from State Highway 36 traveling south. It's just the "tip of the iceberg". I took this photo Monday afternoon and wouldn't dare venture onto the county roads; VFD still doing water rescues and many road conditions unknown. The road we're traveling was closed about 1/2 mile from the spot I took this picture. This is pastureland, usually seen with cattle grazing. The good news is...low pressure system SHOULD move out tomorrow!
