Thanks Ladies!

The best advise I can give, no matter what camera you use;

Try to keep as steady as possible - even lean against something or set the camera on something (railing, trashcan, etc.). Stay steady through the shot.

Learn a few basics about composition such as the "rule of thirds" and avoid "slanted horizons" (I used to be very guilty of that).

Find and use good light. Don't be afraid of using the flash (except on dark rides). Even on a sunny day, a flash can fill in needed light especially if you are shooting into the sun.

Experiment. Have fun and experiment with the camera. Slowly learn the different modes and move away from Auto setting.

Having said all that, I'm enjoying all your photos and your glimpses into my favorite place on Earth! :-)

Thanks fractal! Something I don't have is an external flash - I'll have to invest in that. I'm currently taking a Lightroom/Photoshop course but I need to understand my camera and its settings for different conditions. It's all Greek to me at the moment.

Thanks for the advice.......the steady part is what I really need to work on. And the pictures of the things moving :rolleyes: I usually end deleting most of those.

I have to do that with at least half of the photos I take of DGD :rotfl2: ... my camera STAYS on the sports setting! :rotfl2: :tink:

Is your LR/PS course online? I've been looking for a course to take. I use LR and know what I'm doing, but only what I'm doing, and there is so much more to learn! PS, I really have no clue. I bought a book, but I haven't sat down to use it very often.
