wdwensel.. your castle fireworks shot is really great, and thanks for your compliments on mine! Definitely blown out but I sort of like the effect of the top spires rising out of the inferno :)

Circusgirl.. I like that castle shot, very serene looking.

°O°Joe.. great processing. The oversharp B&W look works very well for the mood of the shot! And thanks for the compliments on the Pooh shot and P&PP fireworks shot!

We-Luv-Disney.. amazing castle fireworks shot!

Since yesterday was my first time posting fireworks here, I think I'll do another..

We-Luv-Disney - Your fireworks shots on your pbase site were a HUGE inspiration for me and basically taught me everything I know regarding fireworks pics. But this one you just posted takes the cake. :worship:

Berni'sDH, nice portrait with Spaceship Earth in the background... I like the depth of field in this shot...

Basically what Jeff said - but also it made the most sense for me with the D40, since it has an internal focusing motor, which I need unless I want to manual focus... also, I found that 30mm is very comfortable and a good average. I think 50mm might be a little close on some of the dark rides and indoor shots, but I don't know, I've seen some pretty great ones...

Thanks, Joe for the compliments! And thanks once more for your explanation as to why you like the Sigma 30mm lens- I may have to consider getting one myself sometime in the future, although I have been pretty happy with my 50mm 1.8.

Since I am still up with insomnia I'll go ahead and do my POTD. Maybe its' Asian influence will have a peaceful effect on me!

Wow..... just noticed that they need to get the gardeners in there to trim up those small bushes/plants in front of the wall....

(sorry to post a second pic.... ) but look at the difference in the landscaping from June (below) to Jan (above)

Circusgirl, beautiful picture of the castle. It looks so calm and peaceful and there's no one in sight... You've been sharing some amazing pictures - please, keep them coming :thumbsup2

We-Luv-Disney, you've done it again... you're the king of the Cinderella Castle with fireworks pictures in my book! Beautiful capture - I don't know how you do it...

Mickey28, I like this picture with the kids in the tea cup :)

Gdad, spectacular Illuminations shot!

Joe - I love the angle and bw. Where were you standing? On a boat? Your photos really get me thinking about photography and how it's all "in the mind's eye."
Thank you all... Kathy - this shot was taken from the Liberty Belle as it returned to the dock after cruising around the Rivers of America. :cloud9:
