Ok, somebody PM me and tell me how to refer to a photo without reposting the photo. There's just too much good stuff not to comment!

Good ole' Tom Sawyer island. The first time I ever visited it 10 years ago, I didn't even realize it had a whole other section (Fort Langhorn). Imagine my surprise the next trip!

I told Joe it was all his fault I was forced to order that lens. ;)

If I may ask Joe and Jeff, what do both of you guys feel are the advantages of the Sigma 30mm 1.4 over say the Nikon 50mm 1.8 (other than being a faster lens)? It wouldn't quite be considered a wide-angle lens, would it?

Thanks,

~Alan

Ed-

Beautiful closeup! Of course, it was taken with a Nikon...;)

Thanks for the great picture of B&TB!

Thanks, Alan. Much appreciated. Really like the 70-300vr; a great lens for the money and my favorite, among the four in my bag at present.

Joe - Thanks for the polarizing lens tip. I should've figured that one out by myself, but I haven't used one of those since I used to shoot ASA25 slides! Now I'm really dating myself! :rotfl:

Thank you, and yes, it was a drastic change and she loved every minute of it. I'm sure we'll splurge on the BBB again next time.

Bernis'DH - those SP photos are a hoot! I love the double glasses on the cleaning lady, and the pose on this one is ... well, I don't have a word to describe it. It's fantastic!

Code - another amazing photo.

Gina - I love the SE shot.

And :welcome: to all the new posters!

Thanks so much for the compliments GuiltyMom- I only hope I can match the quality of your photos (too many that I have enjoyed while working my way through this board to mention individually!) someday!

~Alan

This is from TT queue and I thought the taillight area looked like a hidden Mickey!
