Ed - this is a really pretty shot of Main St. I'm beginning to realize that I really wasn't as relaxed last trip as I thought. I just need to stroll down Main St. next time. I just haven't appreciated how pretty it is.

Thanks again to everyone for sharing.

Becky,

Thank you. It's really hard to see just how picturesque Main Street is from street level, though. This shot (one of several in the series) was taken from the train station platform and gives quite a different perspective than you can possibly get from ground level. And, to give credit where due, a shot posted by Gdad, prior to our 7/07 trip was my inspiration for this series.

I've been on these boards for months but never went into the POTD thred because I figured it would just be your typical touristy shots...but these are amazing!

I know you guys have lots of talent and that's the biggest factor in taking these great pics but as someone who would love to be able to take great photos, I'd love to know what camera you all use:

You guys are awesome!!

:woohoo:

Wow, thanks for including me. I use a Canon 30D. And I have to agree 100% with what Ed said in his response below. A good camera doesn't take good pictures. It really is all in your eye, and practice, practice, practice. I've had my camera for 7 months (and have squeezed in two trips to WDW since), and like Ed, I'm still very much learning how to use everything it can do. I had a pocket camera for a couple of years before getting my 30D.

Currently Nikon equipment as shown in my sig below. At the time of our last WDW visit, I had only the D50 and the lenses shown. Let me hasten to add that there is a LOT more to it than just having a certain brand/model of camera, and I'm still very much a learner and nowhere near being able to take full advantage of the capabilities of the camera gear I have.

There are some STUNNING pictures posted here everyday, made by folks with much less capable (and much less expensive) cameras. A lot of it is just having an eye for what makes an impressive photo, and a lot of it is practice, practice, practice (and the ability with digital of shooting tons of shots in order to cull out a handful of keepers, which is my personal modus operandi).
