My husband and I had an adults only tripped planned this weekend to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away last night. We have been trying to change airline reservations and called wdw and there is no availability at any values or mods for Super Bowl weekend. I thought this was a low time? Does anyone have any insight for me? TIA

Welcome to the DISboards! :cool1:

I'm very sorry for your loss. In response to your question- typically any time there's something going on, WDW seems to book out, at least that's what I've come to see when looking around. My only thought would be to call consistently and see if anything opens. :confused3

I needed just a one night stay before our ressie started on that Sunday. I could not believe how booked up the place was. No clue as to why though. We ended up just using DVC points for the one night, but I had really hoped to book a value that Saturday. Sorry, I can't give you any insight as to why but I was looking too and has same issues.

So very sorry for your loss. I went through that last January myself. Memories really, really, do help:)

There is a dance competition at ESPN and HS in early Feb. They tend to book the values up.

Keep looking, or try to book longer and then cancel some nights (not sure if that is cool or not, but whatever, it's business).

So sorry for your loss and the hassle of rescheduling when you should be with your family :(

What does that mean for the parks? Are they going to be crazy busy? We arrive on SB Sunday 2.2.

I have been to value and moderate resorts- they are huge! I can't imagine not having a single room available when park attendance is not supposed to be at a high level, like when we usually go during Feb break in New England. Oh we'll, I think we will cut our losses on this one. Thanks for your replies and support.

Also when I just happened to look for this coming weekend plenty of rooms were still available, so maybe it is a mix of dancers and South American travelers? I guess I can always win the resolution sweepstakes and stay at a deluxe on disney a dime....wishful thinking

It's happened to me.. booked a week stay at a value in Feb 2009, when I got there to check in they said "sorry we've over booked, we'll be putting you in yacht club for the same rate" Good luck and sorry for your loss

Well THAT isn't something to sneeze at! Talk about an upgrade!:thumbsup2

Hi,

back in October when I booked my stay at the All Stars for November, I had an issue which might fit in here.
Every hotel booking site like Expedia, Hotels,... stated all Disney Hotels as booked out for the time of my vacation.
After calling hotels.com I have found out that they are doing Updates in Disney system, that´s why they marked it as sold out.
Two days later every hotel was back and available for booking.

If I were you I would call Disney to find out more.
Maybe they can upgrade you somehow or put you on a waiting list if they are really booked out.

Good Luck
