All in the Golden Afternoon... Epcot's Flower & Garden

Crissy, I LOVE the report, the pictures are FUN and gorgeous...that is too funny about Beaker and I hope you get your hat! When is your birthday???

I have never been to Starring Rolls, but I must try it! I love the fact you hopped on the boat and just floated over, I have never done that either. Would it be a good idea to park at Epcot, ride the boat and do the Studios and then float back to Epcot if you were going to spend your day first at DS then Epcot? Sometimes we do that for MK and Epcot, mostly because of the W/C, it is simply easier not to have to fold it up and drive each time...thoughts? Would the Friendship boat be quicker do you think?

I LOVE Gerbera Daisies (sent you some above :goodvibes), I have some in my front garden...I love that they remind you of your dear GM! I TRULY love miniature roses for my yard, big ones if they are sent to me! :) I just realized I haven't had roses sent to me in years...marriage will do that to you :rotfl:

Judy, I lucked out that the boat was loading up when I was walking towards it. We left probably about 5 mins after that because it was pretty much full when I sat down. It's 3 stops to Epcot (or HS if you are going the other way) because at the moment they are doing some work on one of the docks. All in all it probably took 15 -20 mins. I would say do it! :thumbsup2 It's nice to sit back and enjoy the ride. I  the Boardwalk so I enjoy the little trip around it that the boat takes. And of course the little ducks in the water are so adorable.

I forgot to thank you for the daisy graphic. I love it! My birthday is March 24th.

Ok, how did I miss two updates Crissy? Hanging my head in shame...;)

You know, Backlot Tour gets some flack for being kinda boring but we love it! DH requested it this past trip too. The first time we rode, my DD's were all like "AAaack, we're going to do die!" It does feel rather real, doesn't it? At least the first couple of times anyway.

Love this fountain pic, the water droplets are gorgeous and is fitting for Animal since he's so wild! I love the Disney fountains too.:thumbsup2

Beaker! He's so cute! You HAVE to buy that hat, it's perfect! Hopefully your DF took the hint.

Hmmm, what's my favorite flower? I guess I'd have to say roses. They've always held a special place in my heart since DH and I dated in college and he'd buy them for me. They smell so wonderful too!

Gerbera daisies are beautiful too! They look so friendly, don't they? Aww, how sweet that you love them because they remind you of your grandmother.:goodvibes I always think of my grandmother whenever I smell lavendar or freshly mown grass (she had a large backyard filled with lavendar and was forever mowing it!).

Looking forward to reading more!:thumbsup2

LOL, that's ok Molly. I think I am currently subscribed to almost 30 threads (:scared1:) and I know sometimes it's crazy to catch up on all of them.

You know I hope he gets the hint too! I was debating printing the pic and putting it on the fridge so he'll remember and have no excuse! :rotfl:
Roses, well I think you'll like one of my photos coming up. I love the way it came out but you'll have to wait for me to post it. ;)

Aw how sweet that lavender reminds you of your grandma. :goodvibes

So last night I braved the pouring rain, and I mean it was coming down to meet a special someone at DTD......:rolleyes1

I was going to hold off to mention it but someone else mentioned meeting them....:rolleyes1

LOL, yup, I got the chance to meet Tim, Mel, and Ana!! :woohoo: :yay: :worship: Let me say that Mel is just as beautiful, Ana is just as cute & more adorable in person, and Tim is sooo nice. :rotfl::lmao: . It was nice to meet up for a few mins to chat.

Looking forward to more!

Alright let’s continue on our trip, so I arrived at Epcot, walked over the bridge that connects you to the UK and France when I couldn’t resist taking this shot into France. See how crowded it was getting – or maybe not, depends on how big this image shows. Both HS and Epcot were pretty crowded when I was there. I don't know if it was because it was a Sat or because of the extra events. :confused3

IMG_6525-1.jpg

I decided to walk towards the left hand side of the bridge to take some shots of the other countries. There’s a spot off to the side of the bridge where they usually host the Illuminations Dessert parties that so many of the Disney brides like to purchase.

Let me add not only do I have a thing for Disney fountains but I love photos with palm trees. I love Morocco, it is one of the more photographic (photogenic?) countries in the World Showcase and I loved how the palm tree looked with the buildings of Morocco in the background.

IMG_6536.jpg

Ok so off I started to walk when I found Cinderella and her Prince Charming

IMG_6539.jpg

Across the way was Aurora and her Prince Phillip. I love the tree behind them, I think it makes the picture pop

IMG_6541.jpg

In France was Beauty and the Beast, they were a little hard to capture because a lot of people were standing in front of them to pose for pictures. I waited for some time to try for a clear shot and then opted just to take a photo of each one as well.

IMG_6546.jpg

IMG_6547.jpg

He-he, I just noticed the real Aurora is in the background of that shot.

Directly behind Belle and Beast were Mrs. Potts and Chip

IMG_6550.jpg

France’s pavilion is fun to check out for the F&G. They have displays of various fragrant plants that you can sniff and learn about. Here’s a pic of one of the dispays

IMG_6549.jpg

Off in the corner of France were these bushes with those beautiful pink flowers. The stamen caught my attention because they were a lovely shade of silver and looked like little silver beads at the tips. I’m so glad I was actually able to capture that in this photo.

IMG_6554.jpg

Coming up next... Morocco and all it's prettiness.

12 more days until your BD...and you are welcome! :flower3:

That IS sweet! :goodvibes

Looking forward to more!

I won't spoil his surprise of where they ate. :lmao: :goodvibes Yes, he told me a few weeks before the reveal too and I told him we had to meet, who could resist seeing the little princess in person. I didn't know about the baby either but I'm so happy for them. :goodvibes

Well when Lisa has her MAW trip we have to meet up. I have no plans on leaving FL anytime soon, I love it here. I wish I could convince all of my family to move down here.

Wait'll I tell my fiancee I'm going to meet another person from the Dis. :rotfl: He laughs that only me can get invited to weddings to people I don't know (2 Dis brides have invited to me to their ceremonies) and meet other families. :rotfl: I tell him I can't help it if people like me. :lmao:

AHHHHHHH, Can't blame a girl for trying!!! :lmao::rotfl2: I KNOW Ana was a little beauty and you fell in love!

My first DIS invite, I am SOOOOO excited!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo: My kids will just be like...Mom knows people everywhere we go...they have gotten used to it over the years and If I DON'T know anyone, I will before it is over.

Tell your fiancee your wedding is going to be HUGE from all of the people you know and have met...he might :faint: and yes, you are so LIKABLE!!! :goodvibes

I LOVE the photos and Morocco is one of my favorite photo places, it looks so real....Yes, It looked packed to me! I bet you didn't meet a stranger though! ;) I also LOVED the photos of the princesses and thier men! :goodvibes:goodvibes Excellent stretched out TR!!!! Tim will be proud!

Wow, amazing pictures Crissy!:thumbsup2 I love this tour of the F&G festival!

Holy cow, that bridge in France looks quite crowded.

This Morocco pic is fab! I love the palm tree in it too, looks very authentic! Actually, all of the trees accentuate the buildings beautifully!:thumbsup2
IMG_6536.jpg

Sigh, looking at all of these pics is making me want to go Disney during the F&G! I love flowers and I just LOVE how they transform into Disney characters. I imagine I'd use an entire memory card on just one day there.

This is stunning, the silver is so delicate and dainty! And you're right, they do look like teeny, tiny beads!
IMG_6554.jpg

Great update, looking forward to the next!!:goodvibes

I agree with 3prettyprincesses, I want to go as well! :cloud9: You took such awesome pictures and I am looking forward to more! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Hmm.... I could've sworn I wrote a response here. Oh well, thank you Molly and Judy for the compliments. I am very happy with the photos I took of the F&G. :goodvibes Sorry I was off the Dis for two days but I promise to add an update tomorrow with pics.

Molly you should come back for F&G, and then you can come for Food & Wine, Star Wars Weekend.... etc. LOL!! :rotfl: I have a second bedroom that's empty for either you or Judy if you'd like. :goodvibes

Thank you for the invite! Do you think I could sneak away from my DH and children for a few days of fun?? AHHHHHHHH, now THAT is a tempting thought! (You made me smile)!!! :dance3:

Here are a few flowers to get you in the mood for updating...

Just read through everything.. still catching up ya know?

Who knew this TR was going to be about me!!!!!!:banana: :lmao::lmao::lmao:

that's nice!

It was a pleasure meeting you and braving the pouring rain last Wednesday. It was really coming down hard! Thank you for the cute gift for Juliana. She was looking for some socks last night and asked to wear those. We gave the bucket to our friends to bring home because they were driving, and haven't gotten them (and the rest of the stuff we gave them) back yet.

Your pictures are great!!! Melody always laughs at me when I take pictures of random things. But I do it anyway. :lmao:

Epcot doesn't look as busy as it was when we were there on Saturday! :goodvibes

Sorry guys, I had a bit of a situation last night when I wanted to post my update last night. My dear fiancée and I spent the afternoon/evening enjoying ourselves on the lenai (I don’t understand why in Florida a patio is referred to as a lanai  ). He’ been putting in a lot of hours at work and working 6 days straight so this was the first time in a while that he’s had 2 days off back to back. So we just lounged on the patio enjoying the sun today.

So here we are happy as can be when I come inside to hear drip, drip, drip. I say to myself ‘Hmm….’ Walk over to the door and can hear water running thru the pipes. I look around and don’t see any water drops, I open the door and drip, drip, drip, there goes the water I’m hearing dripping at a fast pace from the top of the doorway. I called in my fiancée, he goes to knock on the lady upstairs door because the water has to be coming from there. Well surprise, surprise – her washing machine busted and she’s got 2-3 inches of water in her entryway. By this point I’ve got water now coming down my walls but the scary part was the water was dripping out of the wall by the main circuit breaker :scared1: . And I don’t mean it was dripping from the ceiling into the breaker but it was dripping directly from the breaker down. At this point we start to get water running from the corners of the ceilings in the entryway and my second bathroom which is right off the entryway. Thankfully I did not have any serious damage. We contacted the emergency number for the complex and they sent over someone to take a look at the apartments. I mopped up the puddles of water we had but we’re noticing we can seem the seams from the drywall on the ceiling in the living room and kitchen. Well here it is 24 hours later and the ceiling is definitely stained with water marks. I’m going to have to call the complex in the morning for them to take a look and see what they can do. I’m hoping its just that they have to paint the ceiling.

Onwards to Morocco!

Right outside of Tangierine Café was the topiary for Aladdin. I tried for another ‘artsy’ photo by trying to include the lamp post next to Aladdin for the shot.

IMG_6559.jpg

I kind of feel like they should’ve included Jasmine, the Genie, maybe even Iagu with him. He had the space around him and seemed so lonely.

I turned around and found one of my favorite fountains on Disney property. I love, love, love this fountain. It just seems so pretty to me.

IMG_6560.jpg

In fact I love it so much, here’s a close up of it

IMG_6561.jpg

Now if only I can photo shop those people out.

Off to the side of the fountain my photographic eye caught something, a palm tree in the corner! So I tried for another artsy photo

IMG_6564.jpg

Here’s a similar picture but zoomed in

IMG_6563.jpg

And a close up of the flowers planted next to the tangerine trees

IMG_6562.jpg

I think if I could, I would do a Moroccan theme to decorate my place. I found these various light fixtures

IMG_6566.jpg

Check out the color on this one

IMG_6568.jpg

I thought this shelf was really pretty, wouldn’t some funky vinylmations look cool on here??

IMG_6567.jpg

Sadly I realized that something happened with my memory card where I am missing some of my photos. I had taken some cute shots in the stores in Morocco of the baskets and yarns hanging from the ceilings but alas this silly memory card has sent them to never never land. Unfortunately my pictures from Japan are gone too. :sad1: which really upset me because I had some beautiful action shots of the coi fish. I’ve got to go back and re-take these photos so I can post them here for you guys anyway. :rotfl: Like I need an excuse to go back to take more photos!!

Judy I think the kids would freak out if you left them behind. You'd have to tell them you were coming for a special meeting or something. LOL. Thank you so much for the flowers!

Welcome Tim!! Hey only a portion of this is about you. :rotfl:

LOL, I thought you would've tossed that container, it is kinda oddly shaped. Uh-oh, you better get your stuff from your friends.

I'm starting to think March isn't as quiet as most people think it is. I can tell you May is nice and calm! Thats when we got our annual passes last year. :) Our passes expire exactly one week before Star Tours re-opens.

Crissy, First :grouphug::hug: for the water damage! I am sorry for your neighbor, and doubly sorry for you! So much for your relaxing night! And you are right, my children would go :upsidedow if I went to Disney without them! And I would miss them...but doesn't it sound fun to me!

LOVE the pictures it is absolutely gorgeous! Our bedroom has a Moroccan flair to it, Burgundy, green and gold, a small lamp, with MOroccan beads, LOTS of pillows, candles galore, sconces on the wall, small palm trees and ferns on my plant ledge, ...but I promise you it isn't gaudy! One of these days when I can paint I want to paint the walls a rich color...I love our bedroom...

You have quite the artistic flair, I love it!

I hope tonight has been a bit quieter for you!

How did I NOT know you had this going????????:eek::eek:

I'm off to bed now (up bright and early in the a.m. for work); but I'll be back to read and comment once I'm at my desk with my Starbucks. ;)

Thank you for all the hugs! Can you believe this crazy woman upstairs is still using her machine? I heard the high pitched whirling the machine has been making these few weeks going on about 20 mins ago. I sure hope she had someone there today to repair that machine. We definitely do not need a repeat of yesterday!

Your bedroom sounds beautiful! I admit, my bedroom is a mixture of lots of things. We figured once we get a house we'd actually work on a theme for the room. We keep debating painting the walls in the apartment to give this place a splash but then I remember the crazines we had in our NJ apt painting walls, DF thought it was a great idea to paint the entryway a dark gray, although it was pretty with the white trim it was a pain to paint over!

Thank you for the St. Paddy's day pic. :)

LOL, Welcome Kathy!! I snuck this in huh? Work - oh how I miss work. I know that's a sad statement. I do some part time work from home stuff for my sister in law but it just isn't the same. Ooh so you'll have pretty pics to look at while you are sipping your favorite drink. :)

Hi Crissy!:goodvibes Gorgeous update!

I agree, Aladdin looks quite lonesome in that garden! Where is Jasmine or the Genie??:confused3

Oh how I love Disney fountains! And this Moroccan one is stunning because of all that amazing tile work.:thumbsup2
IMG_6561.jpg

You know, I have a crazy fetish about light fixtures too. When we ate at Yak & Yeti, I was completely taken with their lights! DH was like, how many pics do you need of them?:rotfl: They're so pretty. And the Morocco ones you captured are gorgeous, especially this one:
IMG_6568.jpg

It's so lacy looking and delicate with such color!

I really love this pavillion, it's so unique! Have you read any of Liesa's (All7ofUs) TR? She just did an update on Morocco and it's beautiful! I really enjoy seeing other cultures, don't you?

Looking forward to the next installment here! And thanks for the offer of your spare bedroom when we visit Disney again! You're so sweet!:goodvibes

I hope the not very bright upstairs neighbor doesn't cause you anymore problems! If she does, since she KNOWS the machine is leaking, then she should help you clean it up! I think that would be fair, Don't you??

Our bedroom is the only room in the house that has a theme...other than a huge mess...:lmao::rotfl2:
