Can any recent visitors to WDW on the DDP confirm if the rumored policy of everyone at the table on the DDP having to use a credit, versus some paying OOP, is true?

I am not much help, but here's my input!

We're leaving in 11 days. On our first night my friend from Tampa is meeting us for dinner. My family will have the dining plan and obviously my friend will not. When I made the ADR I mentioned to the CM that one person in our party is NOT on a dining plan and she said that's fine, it doesn't matter. We can use credits and my friend can pay cash.

As far as everyone being REQUIRED to use a credit if they are all on a plan I am not sure. :confused3

I have not been recently, but they can't enforce this. What if you do dine with people that are not on the DDP? I just don't see them doing this. They may charge a fee for sharing though. If you are really that worried about it, call each of the restaurants directly. That will be the only way you will get a straight answer.

I had read that it applied to CRT and the dinner shows and it really concerns me because my DM and DF are meeting us and staying offsite. My family will have the DDP, but they will not and are planning on joining us for some of these things.

Unfortunately, it is one of those things that you hear them applying on an inconsistent basis, so while most folks will have no problem, you could just a readily end up boucing up against this rule being applied to you.

this is my understanding of how it works, so take it for what its worth......

If your room key says 2 A / 2C, then you would be "expected" to only use 2A/2C for your meal. If 4A and 3C at sitting at the table and 2A/2C want to use the plan and the other 2A/1C want to pay OOP, I can't imagine anything would be said.

Its when you try to pay for 4A and 3C using the DDP or 2A and all the children OOP that something "may be" said.

Thats when it seems to be an issue from what some people have reported. As long as you are using your DDP as it states on your room key, that shouldn't be an issue.

On our trip next month it will be just the four of us, 3A, 1C, and we are not looking to use child entitlements for adult meals, or have guests with us that are not on the DDP.

What I was hoping to do though, was to pay OOP for DS12, and DD9, at Cali Grill and Narcoossee's and use their DDP credits for a couple of extra TS meals. We are staying 8 nights, but also have a 'Ohana breakfast planned, as well as a lunch at Sci-Fi Dine In. It just seemed that what the kids would order at the signature places would not be worth using 2 credits apiece on. definitely not looking to cheat the system.

I am considering cancelling the Narcoossee's meal altogether, but thought that everyone would really enjoy the fireworks from CG since our ADR is for 8:30.

Rumor now is that Disney will change the information systems later in the year to enforce separation of child credits and adult credits. After that happens, I doubt there will be quite as much risk of being denied requests to pay for part of meals OOP, since the incentive to abuse the program won't be there any longer.

I hope they do start separating the credits, so that we can use them when we want. My DS 11 is a very picky eater, and most of the time orders off the kids menu. This way we can pay OOP for him, and save his credits for a later time. We have 2 more TS than credits and I was hoping at the 2 restaurants that he will order off the kids menu we could save these for the other 2 that we are over with. We'll see if they will let us do it on our upcoming trip.
