All-in-One laundry/softener/dryer sheet?

I thought they were okay. I didn't feel they got my clothes as clean as regular soap. So, is there a replacement product out there? I still used them because it was easier than packing baggies of soap to put in my luggage.

I've hesitated to use the Purex Sheets since I learned here about the staining problem. I now be sure the water is filled before I put the clothes in. No problems, but I think my next purchase will be pods.

I always let the water fill too, but they still ruined a couple of my dress shirts several years ago.

As near as I can tell, most "theme park wear" should be fine, it's more dress shirts/slacks that suffer from this problem. I only used them on vacation, but happened to go to a condo directly from a business trip, so had a few shirts I figured I'd launder. I've never used the sheets again, for anything, and we threw away the ones we still had.

Now, I keep a bottle of All Small-n-Mighty in the Owners Locker. Absent that, I'd just get extra boxes from Mousekeeping. It's only $1.

Be careful with the Purex 3 in 1 sheets. Several times I've had them leave what appear to be oil/grease stains on my clothes. You cannot get the stain out. I contacted Purex and they made suggestions on how to remove the stain but nothing worked. Now I only use them for old sheets and towels when it doesn't matter if they get stained. I really liked them for DVC use but can't take the chance on ruining a good blouse or shirt.

I have also had this issue. It seems as though the grease/oil type stains end up being on softer type materials (easy dry shirts/shorts). It's hit or miss what it gets on. I have been able to get it out with spray and wash when I get home.
Because of that, we have switched to the Tide Pods and just bring dryer sheets with me.

I used the purex sheets one vacation and they left stains on all my whites so be careful. I switched to ajax toss ins since they r a powder and I figured it would be easier to get them thru airport security than the liquid pods. Also throw a few dryer sheets in a ziplock Baggie and we're good to go!

For those of you that have used the Tide pods in your Owner's Locker: Are you okay just to keep them in a Ziploc bag? Or do they need to be kept in something sturdier?

How come everything I like gets discontinued?

As far as these sheets go, they never caught on with the consumer. Purex was the test 'brand'. If it was a good seller, then you would see them in other 'brands' made by the same manufacturer. Now it is the product like the Tide Pods. Most major brands are going to that pod style.

I just bought some pods I saw on sale, but haven't used them yet. They were Purex as well. Weird what things catch on though, and what things don't. I must be the outlier!

I really liked them too for travel...until I ruined my shirts using them!

Does anyone know if the pods are ok to bring on a plane? It is a gel/liquid substance so I wasn't sure.

Any liquids in carry on have to be less than 3 oz each and all fit in one quart size zip-lock. In checked baggage it wouldn't matter.

I'd be interested to hear about the pods if anyone has had experience either in carry on or checked luggage. I have the All Free and Clear pods, and I'm thinking of packing them in the checked luggage, but I don't know how'd they do with the pressure change, etc.

Right now, I like someone else have an All Small and Mighty in my OL, but I think I need a new one or additional detergent. Read: DH didn't mark on my inventory list how much was left when we departed - just partial
