All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Great update! Now I know the story behind the $1200 bill at 'Ohana! Glad you all got it separated, but I can't believe no one just volunteered to cover it! ;) At first, I started looking for Brooklynn and couldn't see her....Then I noticed her furry friend. :)

So you're up to Dec 30--my Elizabeth's birthday. We went to MK on that day during her 16th birthday trip two years ago. Fun day!

I am loving that little "Mickey's Ear Factory." That is too cute!

Enjoy your Saturday! :)

We do not want your guys to get sick, so you will have to do 'Ohana one of these days when they don't make the trip with you. Too bad they don't have a shrimp-free area so that they could experience 'Ohana otherwise, because it is good!

I wish they did, too! I know my dad would love it. I hope to get Charles to Disney someday, but 'Ohana will not be something I could do with him, either. He dislikes steak and seafood, and I think the sight of the peel and eat shrimp would completely undo him. I mentioned it to him, once, and he shuddered hugely.

I love your MK morning pictures!! So weird to think that while you guys were there, I was getting ready for my trip in a few days. I'm still bummed I miss you guys, though!

Fun Ohana meal! I particularly like the "Bella, are you sleepy?" and Chris being consumed by hunger pic! :rotfl:

It had been a long wait out in the lobby.

:lmao: I noticed Chris' face right away. Yeah I had to sit next to him and watch him just look at me like he was going to die if he did not get food soon.

I don't think it was the happiest night in his life.

Awesome updates!!!! One of our favorite treats is the giant Mickey head cookies. It can easily be shared by DH, DS and myself. If only the overwhelming sugar smell didn't give me a headache, I'm sure we would hang out in there a lot more!

It would be interesting to know how many pounds of sugar they use a day on all of those goodies. I'm sure the number is staggering! As many times as I have looked at the big Mickey heads, I have never purchased one. I probably need to do that to be an official DISer, don't I?

You're going to be in Disney NEXT MONTH!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Silly John- you always time your reports perfectly!!!

Love the large "FAMILY" dinner at Ohana! I love the pot stickers and the bread pudding. I am hopping I can get them at Kona. I hate the price tag at Ohana especially now that my 10 year olds are adults...only dh eats enough to cover the cost, but he can't cover the three of us.

I wish it was a Magic Kingdom day for us. Can't wait to go deeper into the park on your next post!

Our friends arrived yesterday, and it is an Animal Kingdom day for them today.

I still want to put up a mini-report of our October trip, too. I may have time for that the last week in May.

Everything at 'Ohana is good! I am excited about eating there again in July. I am told that I will be able to order Brooklynn an item or two rather than have her pay for a buffet that she's not going to eat. I will need to check into that. My thought is that I might get her something from Capt. Cook's and bring it up. She will eat chicken strips or grilled cheese and fruit.

I bet it is hot in Animal Kingdom today!

Yeah, Mr. Marc should have just said, "Aw, what the heck - I've got this one!" :rotfl:

Brooklynn is in heaven right now, because when the rooms get changed in preparation for Sophie's arrival, she's getting animal prints in her room. :lovestruc

I can't imagine anyone not loving an 'Ohana or Kona steak! Those steaks are a gift to my tastebuds!!!

I am sorry we missed you guys, too. Eventually, we will cross paths. It might be at MCO as we're leaving and you're arriving, but surely it will happen! :thumbsup2

I don't think it was the happiest night in his life.

Waiting for food was a recurring theme during that trip. :sad2:

Once he could dig in he was good but he is soooooo food orientated and one one food filled track. :lmao:

Now I'm really happy that I booked an Ohana dinner for our October trip!!! I'll be checking our bill very carefully though! It sure looked like a fun group to be with!!

That's understandable.
The phrase 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach' didn't become famous because of just one man. I'm betting it holds true for somewhere in the 95% range of all men. ;)

It does provide some good eating, and of course the resort itself is beautiful to enjoy. We didn't get to walk around that night - before we had to stick around and wait to be called for the meal, and afterward it took us so long to get out of there that it was time to go home.

We'll be sure all bills are gotten sorted out before any group meals in the future. ::yes::

Thanks for the reminder of how great Ohana is, we are trying to figure out where we want to eat in November and now maybe Ohana will make the list. I think I'm going to start my pre- trip report this week, we had our first shopping trip for our November trip yesterday and I have pictures of all the great stuff we got to share!

Crossing the bridge into Adventureland, we came across Ariel and Eric.

Hello, Brooklynn, who used to watch my movie 49 times a week! How are you?

Bella's body language speaks volumes. She is learning to get into the characters, but she is not 'there' yet. She has her comfort zone, and it's well-defined.

This is the queue for Tinkerbell and her friends.

IMG_7781.jpg

We saw characters here, but for whatever reason, which is clearly a mystery to me at this moment, I have no pictures of such. :confused3

Random palm tree picture, just because I like palm trees. :)

Time to go on a Pirate adventure.

IMG_7787.jpg

IMG_7788.jpg

I don't care much about any of the Pirate stuff, to be honest, and Jack Sparrow is definitely not my type, but I always feel obligated to try to get a picture of him.

IMG_7793.jpg

Not a good picture, but I will say again, whoever did the Jack Sparrows for this attraction was spot on. The animatronic Jacks are amazing!

I do like taking picture of the gift shop, though, and usually I get 3-4 as we leave, but I think keeping an eye on Bella diminishes my picture-taking somewhat. This is the one quick shot I got as we left.

A PoC in training.

IMG_7795.jpg

I think it was here that Jill, John, and Brooklynn went off to ride big kid rides. Poor Jill will not get to do a lot of big kid rides this summer. John and Brooklynn will be doing a lot of running around together, and I'll fill in occasionally. Luckily, John and I have different favorites, so we'll be able to swap off well.

Bella decided she was hungry, so we stopped at a kiosk for a corn dog.

IMG_7797.jpg

Do you know where we are standing now?

IMG_7798.jpg

Did you guess correctly?

IMG_7799.jpg

We left Adventureland and went to Tomorrowland.

IMG_7800.jpg

There's a party goin' on 'round here....

IMG_7801.jpg

IMG_7803.jpg

Bella did reach her arm out, so she was liking this.

IMG_7805.jpg

IMG_7809.jpg

Look who is going to join in the dance party!

I don't know if this is the time Bella and I went to see Carousel of Progress, but I know we did at some point during the trip.

IMG_7814.jpg

I may be buying some Toy Story stuff this summer, because that's going to be the theme of my classroom next year.

Okay, that's it for this morning. Happy Sunday to all of DIStown!

Wow what a crew at O'hana's. Must have been a lot of fun & seeing Pat's sons face was so funny!! I can get like that sometimes & I want to eat NOW! That must have been a nightmare to try & sort out that bill!!

I love the palm trees also & took quite a few during this last trip.

Bella looks so cute joining the dance party and I love how she is looking up at Ariel.:cutie:

Have a great Sunday!!

Your meal at Ohana looks great! I didn't know you could book tables that big there!

I agree, the Jack animatronics really are impressive. Especially that last one!

Yay for Bella really warming up to the characters! Especially joining in the dance party with Stitch! :cool1:

I sure hope that MK has a dance party when we are there NEXT MONTH!! :goodvibes I can't imagine being the server for 28 people and then having to figure out who belonged to what check. :scared: :rotfl: I'm sure it was a fun time eating with that many friends.

The Jack Sparrow animatronics ARE amazing, especially the last one. It's amazing to me how they can get the smallest gestures and details down.

Bella is getting SO brave! Good for her!

Have a nice Sunday, MeMom!

The good news was since it was a buffet, the only real question was Adult or child. I can't imagine if we had an actual menu what would happened. :scared:

Bella sure is checking out Prince Eric. Not too sure about him..:rotfl2:

Way to go Bella hugging characters and joining the party!:cool1:
Jill will have to make up for missing out on the big rides in October and you can sit out with Bella and Sophie. :thumbsup2

Bella is getting to be such a big girl with the characters. Such a cute picture of her with stitch. Chloe loves pirates-yes that is my excuse for having to see jack sparrow numerous times during a trip and I am sticking to it :)

I saw the FB announcement but wanted to say it again here, "Congratulations to Jill! Aww 3 little princesses." princess:princess:princess:

Love the Chef Mickey party.

Ahh Zebra Domes. I hope I have time to grab some when I am in Florida this month for my sister's graduation.:thumbsup2

Thoughts and prayers for Cara and her family.:grouphug:

Fun O'hana meal.

I like palm trees too so I don't mind the random palm tree pics.
