I've never read the books, well actually I read the Hobbit years ago, but I don't even remember. The movie was still EXCELLENT!! There were many parts that made me sit up in my seat!
The battle scenes...SPECTACULAR....Legolas and Gimli counting who killed the most...HILARIOUS!!! Sam's friendship....PHENOMONAL!!! The whole trilogy...VERY WELL DONE....VERY WELL!!!
I just have no idea what to look forward to next year. For three years it was The Matrix and Lord of the Rings....and both are finished...so now, I'm lost!
For a 3 1/2 hour movie, time flew by...way to quickly.
As for my hottie Legolas....I didn't see enough of him in the movie, but what was shown....OH MY MY!!!!

And I suspect it'll be in the extended edition. But even without having read the books (only finished with the first one), my entire party (6 people) caught on that Eowyn and Faramir were standing together at Aragorn's ceremony and we figured they were a couple, if not married.
(I knew that
His thought being that neither he nor Eomer would survive? (At least, that's what it was in the movie, I thought)
) and I think I've liked it more each time I've seen it. I think it's amazing that it's held my attention for the entire 3 1/2 hours all 3 times I've seen it...my attention span is really not that long!
