All FP machines to be removed from Animal Kingdom by next week and....

Not trying to be mean spirited or troll at all, but how does this enter into the theory about SB lines being shorter because of FP+? Is it because of increased FP usage?

It fits more into my theory that Disney refuses to build new attractions until they start using up the wasted capacity on some attractions.

I have never used a FP on Dinosaur. But if everyone else all of a sudden starts using them, I guess I'll have to (unless I can get out of riding it entirely). And if everyone is using FP there, SB will certainly be slower.

Not to go all off topic or anything, but what did you think of Indy out at DL? It's the same ride system and almost identical track layout as Dinosaur.

1) Thou shall have no other vacations before Disney 2) Thou shall not use the words "capacity, math or headliner" 3) Thou shall not partake in activities around WDW more than once per vacation 4) Thou shall not take advantage of park openings to ride more than your fair share of rides 5) Thou shall not voice any opinion that does not align with the views of the lord 6) Thou shall not deviate from a preplanned vacation schedule 7) Thou shall not hop in a pool belonging to thy neighbour 8) Thou shall not covet a working MDE app and website 9) Honour thy FP+ and thy MagicBand 10) Thou shall not commit adultery by venturing outside the gates of The Lord.

That's the funny part. I know that and we LOVE Indy anyway. Always have. Even rescheduled a DL trip in 2010 to avoid it being closed. :rolleyes1 I can't explain it. It just is what it is. Maybe it's the music???? :lmao: I was happy we even got to ride it this time though. Every time but one it was down when we walked by. It's the BTMRR of DLR. Of course BTMRR couldn't take that spot because it was closed for refurbishment. :rotfl:

We actually favor the ride based on Indy as well. Dinosaur seems to be much rougher to us.:confused3

Beats me. Like someone said earlier, probably an operational issue caused a backup. Reports later today were more normal.

And the theory is for when there is ONLY FP+. That happens TOMORROW. And even then, things need to shake out a bit, as people tomorrow are likely to be quite confused.

AK might also be the park where impact might be the least obvious, given that on a normal day you can ride Everest multiple times via standby... :)

It's the blowgun thing. That's what makes Indy awesome.

But the ride does seem totally different. The first time someone told me Indy and Dino were the same, I was all, "Nuh uh."

But I still ride Dino every trip. I can't remember when I last used a FP for it. Didn't even pick it for one of my three FP+s in October (KS, EE, and PW).

I agree about the blowgun!:thumbsup2 Maybe it's just me but when the jeep crosses the bridge it freaks me out how cavernous the ride appears. I can't think of a single place in Dino (which we love and rode multiple times during our visits) that resembles that scene.

We've probably ridden Dino 40 times and not one time have we ever had to use a FP for it.

I believe the track layout is identical in Dino and Indy. But the vehicle movements aren't necessarily the same.

Actually they are slightly different. This pic is of the Dino layout and the grey areas are from Indy.

The theming is much better at Indy. There's so much plain black space in dinosaur..it just isn't nearly as interesting as the temple of the forbidden eye!

OMG, that's the highest I have ever seen the wait at Dinosaur.

And that's for a MID-DECEMBER date, before the Xmas rush starts. That sort of thing shows perhaps better than anything else what a massively detrimental effect the new FastPass+ system is having on WDW in general. And it's only going to get worse I suspect.

As many people have said, using FP+ is of course completely optional when visiting WDW - in exactly the same way that going on rides is optional...

I have only ridden Indy twice, and the last time was 7 years ago. But, I agree that the ride seemed much smoother. I generally liked the Indy ride better too, but it's hard to compare the freshness of something that you've only done once or twice to something you've done dozens of times.

That having been said, I like Splash Mountain at WDW better than I liked the one at DL, which we also have only ridden twice. Maybe it was our imagination, but, it seemed to us that the one at DL moved faster. That may be more appealing to some, but to me it detracted from the charm of the story and songs. We refer to it jokingly as the "Splash Mountain Speedway".

I know this wasn't directed at me but having been to DL a couple times...
Indy is a bagillion times better. I guess I just like the story/theming more.
