All female space flight back safe

I listen to a podcast, People I Mostly Admire. I feel like these three are in that category or at a minimum People I Mostly Am Jealous Of.

Nobody said he was anything other than a space tourist. This “first all female crew” thing has been implying they are more than that.

Yes, to me, it denigrates the women who have put in the time & done the hard work to actually crew a serious space flight.

Wow, I disagree completely. First of all, any spacecraft that exits the Earth's atmosphere is a serious space flight. It's not Mission Space at EPCOT. The fact that it didn't require 6 trained astronauts to complete this particular mission doesn't denigrate anyone. Did Capt Kirk/William Shatner going up as a passenger for a similar experience years ago denigrate the men who have trained decades to be an astronaut? I think not........

So much this. When the others bought their ride it was a bucket list, a childhood dream, an excitement to be doing something unique. They never implied they were anything other than a paid passenger on an extreme "amusement" ride. While I believe it is a waste of money I could appreciate they could afford to have their fun!!

This female group has been put out there as some kind of spectacular women's accomplishment, implied they were astronauts, projected this as a space exploration/experiment event and ready to mark it in history. They were rich women paying for an extreme "amusement" ride in the company of a couple of scientists. I won't even say they did experiments as it was 11 minutes with seconds in no gravity. Barely time to unbuckle their seatbelts.

If they had just presented it as an extreme ride adventure, great, good for them. But they (especially Ms Gayle) want us to treat them like they cured cancer or something. The self importance and disgust at the commoners not fawning over them!. Folks are losing their jobs ... check your fantasy thoughts and def don't tell people the goal is to shoot all the trash from earth into space. Such an elitist 1% point of view. I find them gross.

I found it odd the list DID NOT contain Christa McAuliffe. I guess technically she never made it to space though. She was the teacher who was selected as the first ride-along, non-astronaut. She was selected to demonstrate the educational opportunities of space travel and was tragically killed in the Challenger explosion. Makes me mad every year on the anniversary of the accident when they don't even mention it in my kids' school curriculum.

Well...on jeopardy today...they said the will expand into a red giant and consume every thing around it and likely and eventually a.... wait for it.... wait for it...no,no,no...not a wrecking BALL....a white dwarf.

We’re about half way there lol.

Roughly 4.5 billion years ago our solar system was born from the remnants of a star system that had already came and went. We might possibly even be third generation.

In another ~4.5 billion years the sun will have become a red giant so large it physically extends out to touch Earth. Milky Way galaxy will be colliding/merging with Andromeda galaxy too.
