Alison the Accountant's Accountability Journal (Feedback Welcome)

Great job getting your exercise in! Whatever happened on Thanksgiving is done with, and I know you won't have any problems getting back on track! :cheer2:

Sigh, what is wrong with me! :confused3 I am still not back on track. Hopefully today was just a 'break in' day, and tomorrow I will be eating better. I will make sure I do!

Food -
B- Cereal, Banana, Milk / Coffee
S- Lite Yogurt
L- Salad and 1/2 tuna salad sandwich and carrots diet coke
S-Krispy Kreme (sigh, somebody brought them in and they smelled soooo good so I caved. BUT I did just get a plain one instead of one of the chocolate covered custard filled ones. Small favors, I know!)
S-Small piece of chocolate somebody else was passing out. Should have just said no thanks, but I guess since I had the donut...
S-Part of an orange to get some vitamin c in
S-Then I went home to indulge in a Triscuit binge! Sigh. :confused3
D-Salmon and broccolli. Decided to skip a starch after my triscuit binge.

So obviously I was not great today, but I'm ready to start anew tomorrow. I have my leftover salmon and broc so I already have a healthy meal for lunch. Just need to stay away from the holiday treats!!!

Workout -
50 minutes at lunch of Circuit training (cario and weights) and abs.

Water -
100 oz +

Tomorrow I will eat better!!

It is very hard to get back in the swing of things, especially with all the goodies around! Sometimes you have to ease back into it... At least you dranks tons of water and got that workout in!

Today will be better, you'll see! :cool1:

Well, today was OK. I'm still snackier than I would like, but I think I'm still sort of in vacation mode. Overall I made good choices today, though.

Food
B - Eggs, Orange, WW Toast w/ PB, coffe/milk
S - Lite Yogurt
L - Salmon, broccolli, apple (probably not enough)
S - A few chocolate covered espresso beans and a piece of Dove chocolate
S - Low Carb Tortilla, Turkey, Avacado
S - Triscuits
D - Low Carb Tortilla, Ground Beef Taco meat, avacado, salsa

Workout
45 minutes Body Sculpt at lunch
45 minutes elliptical machine after work

Water
Lots, probably 120 oz

Tomorrow I need to bring a birthday cake in for the November birthdays (yes, I'm a procrastinator!). I'll have a small piece, but definitely won't go overboard. I think I'll buy the smallest cake possible so if there's not enough I can be polite and pass. Well, we'll see. I don't want to be stingy!

All right we can do this! 10 days until Florida!

Good idea on the cake! If I have to bring a cake, I try to bring chocolate since I don't like chocolate cake. Then I'm not tempted! I think you need to get rid of those Triscuits!! :goodvibes

Great job on the workouts! :cheer2:

Just think, when you finally get 100% back on track, it will be time for you to go on vacation! :sunny:

Yeah, I actually only had a couple the other day I don't think, but when the munchies hit boy does a crunchy salty triscuit sound good. I had a coupon and they were on sale when I bought these, but I probably won't buy them again. Too tempting. And yes, the vacation is concerning me. At least it's close to New Year, which is a good 'starting over' day!

Today was pretty good. I feel like I ate like a normal person, but didn't overdo it. I'm pleased that I allowed myself the cake, but didn't fall off the deep end! I skipped my snacks to make up for it, and it didn't seem to affect me too much.

Food
B-1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup Fiber One, 1 Tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 banana / coffee/milk
L- Went to a local Hawaiian place when I picked up the cake - small spam musubi roll (like sushi, but with spam), 1/2 a lunch plate of Kalua pork, steamed rice, and a couple bites of macaroni salad. Diet Coke.
S - 1 piece chocolate cake - yummy!
D - 1 glass red wine, 1 cup pasta with meat sauce, broccolli

So, definitely treated myself, but not too much.

Workout
20 minutes pilates
45 minutes running
20 minutes brisk walk while I waited for my car at the car wash.

Not bad at all.

Water
Lots, at least 100 oz.

I'll busy today at work, so I should definitely avoid the snackies!

You did great considering you went out to lunch AND had cake! It is important that you skipped snacks to make up for it rather than getting into that "I've already eaten junk, I might as well splurge the whole day" mindset.

You will do fine on your vacation, I'm sure you will make healthy choices most of the time! :goodvibes

Today was really good. I avoided a lot of 'bad' stuff, ate well, and worked out a lot!

Food
B-Eggs, Orange, Toast/PB & Coffee/Milk
S-Lite Yogurt
L-2 low carb tortillas and leftovers from the lunch plate from yesterday, Diet Coke
S-A 100 calorie snack pack that a friend gave me - some sort of graham cookies, yummy! Maybe I'll buy them? The portion control is nice.
D-Broccolli, Pasta sauce with meat sauce, glass of milk, WW toast/PB, 1/2 banana

Exercise
45 minutes body sculpting at lunch
60 minutes step class after work
I'm really noticing how much more in shape I am since starting this 'gung-ho' program. I think I've only been working out like this for at most 6 weeks, so hopefully in 2 months I'll see more results. It's definitely a 'habit' now, so I don't fear that I'll lose interest.

My gym might add a kick boxing class Fridays at lunch after New Years, I'm really hoping they will!

Water
Lots, but I'm still thirsty, so maybe not enough.

Here's to Friday!

Today was OK:

Food
B-1/2C cottage cheese, 1tbsp PB, 1/2C All Bran cereal, 1/2 banana, coffee/milk
S-Lite Yogut
L-Salad with chicken, Orange, 1 piece chocolate
S-Triscuits and Cheese (measured out)
D-Pasta & Milk

Exercise
Planned rest day, but I did do some walking at the mall at lunch. I won't count it though.

Water
Lots, but know I need to work on it today and tomorrow.

Only 6 more days until we leave for WDW!

Wow, your workouts look fantastic! I have no doubt that you will be seeing some positive results.

Well, this weekend had some pretty bad food. Went to a party, and out to lunch at Cheesecake Factory. I avoided cheesecake and split my meal over two meals. But I still think I overindulged this weekend. I guess I haven't permanently changed my habits yet. Sigh.

I did go running on Saturday for 5+ miles. It felt really good, and I know I'm stronger now than I was at the beginning of this 'adventure'.

I leave this Friday! My DH is sick, so I'm really hoping I don't get sick right before the trip. I've been taking airborne and zinc tablets, lots of vitamin C too.

How exciting, you are practically on vacation already!

How you managed to avoid cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory is beyond me... What willpower!

Ok, I'm really nervous about cathching DH's illness and I woke up yesterday with a tickle in my throat. So I'm taking a couple days off from exercise. Last winter I went running even though I knew I was getting sick, and it turned into strep throat! Definitely don't want that to happen right before my trip! A couple days rest will do me good.

Food
B-Airborne tablet&water, eggs, orange, toast
S-emergenC rasberry fizz tea
S-Green Tea
L-Tuna Sandwich and an orange (so yeah, I'm totally ODing on Vitamin C)
S-Lemon Tea and crackers
S-Airborne Tablet/water
D-Soup

Plus lots of water!

Sickies of the world unite! I'm feeling much better today, but DH is worse so he's staying home. I just hope I can make it to Friday without getting sick. I can do it, I can do it!

Remember to wash your hands too! And keep telling yourself that you're not getting sick, you're not getting sick, you're not getting sick. That should do the trick!

Only a couple more days until your trip! How fun!!!

Happy Holidays goodeats!

Hope everything is okay and you are doing well!

Hope you have a great holiday!

Keep on

So it's been an entire month since I posted. I fully intended to post when I got back from WDW, but then life happened. I kept up with my workouts (but never posted the results or even added them up to see if I met the challenge), but foodwise was awful! Surprisingly enough I haven't gained that much, I'm still around 137. Not horrible, but no progress is bad. Not to mention that today's 137 is tomorow's 142 that I'll just accept just like I accept the 137. Sigh.

My Mother-in-law gave me The Firm system for Christmas (don't worry I asked for it, she didn't just decide I needed to work out more), so I've been doing those tapes and they're quite a workout. But I'm not sure how to tie that in with my other workouts. I guess I can do The Firm every other day and then run or do elliptical the other days. It will be a work in progress.

I'm going back to The Zone way of eating. It makes me feel so much better and it's nice because if I have one bad meal I can just make the next meal better. Plus once you have it down it's easy to put meals and snacks together. I guess my DH will just have to eat these meals for dinner. I'm definitely going to try to not buy beer or wine to have at home. It's just too tempting and not necessary.

Here's what I ate yesterday:

B 7:15ish- 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, Orange, 1 piece WW bread (11 net carbs), Coffee/little milk

L 12:00ish- 1/2 breast chicken (3 oz?), 1/2 yam, 1 tbsp pistachios

S 4:30ish- 2 wasa rye crackers, 1 oz string cheese

D 6:45ish- Salmon (5 oz), Salad with oil and vinegar, broccolli, kiwi

S 9:30ish -1 cup 1% milk

The bed time snack is the best part. I try to keep it to milk since it doesn't feel as heavy as a piece of chicken or cheese. Supposedly it keeps your metabolism going.

Today there's a luncheon, but I'm going to avoid rolls and cake. It's a soup and salad luncheon, so hopefully there's enough protein available. I'll bring a lite yogurt just in case and my typical afternoon snack.

6 months until Maui!

Welcome back! I don't think you were the only one on a feeding frenzy during the holidays! You will lose those lbs quickly, don't worry!

I have the Firm Body Sculpt DVD, but I don't have the apparatus. It is still a tough workout just on the floor, I can't imagine using the step!

Great job with your eating yesterday. It is nice that you have a plan you know has worked in the past. :flower:

Ugh, life is very stressful right now. Work is really busy, my boss is in a horrible mood, so much housework to do, AND we close escrow on Monday. Yikes!

Eating wise wasn't horrible, but I should have woken up early and worked out.

B-Eggs (2 whole, 2 whites), Orange, WW toast/PB, coffee/milk
L-Small sandwich, soup, water, little piece of cake - not a lot of options at the luncheon,
S-1 oz cheese, 2 wasa crackers
D-1 cup jambalaya (fatty, but nutritionally in the Zone)
S-1 cup 1% milk

I haven't had to snack at all save for my 2 snacks, so that's good. I need to work on buying more lowfat protein choices. I've been making up my grocery list and menu planning for next week so that's good. I hope to get a workout in today, but there's so much to do I don't know if I have time. I have to go into work one day this weekend so that eats up some time too. I just need to make it through this week then I can devote a lot more time to exercising like I used to. I just need to get into a routine.

I hope you are able to get back into a routine! I know how frustrating it is when you plan on working out then something happens and you never make it to the gym... At least your eating is on track! Keep it up! :goodvibes

I'm really into this way of eating. I hope I can keep it up for awhile and make it a habit and just plain part of my lifestyle. It's relatively easy since it keeps me full and I know I can just restart at the next meal if I have a set back.

Saturday -
B 9:00AM- Eggs, bacon, banana coffee/milk
L 1:00PM- Salmon, salad, orange, a little bit of pistachios
D 5:00PM- Went out - veggie stirfry, chicken, a couple bites of nachos
S 7:00PM- Decaf Cappucinno before movie - some sugar in the raw
S 11:00PM- 1 oz cheese, 2 Wasa crackers

Didn't get to really workout, but was fairly active since I did tons of laundry and grocery shopping.

After my run this morning the scale showed 135! That was a nice surprise :goodvibes . We'll see if it sticks.
