Alison the Accountant's Accountability Journal (Feedback Welcome)

Good for you!! Doesn't it feel wonderful to have such a terrific day under your belt? That scale will start moving before you know it. Keep it up! :cheer2:

I don't know if I'm brave enough to try that snack. Do you just mix it all together or what?

Well, obviously don't try it if you don't want to, but I find it's a tasty way to get extra protein, fiber, and healthy fat into you. Plus since it's so filling it keeps the cravings and hungries away. It makes a good breakfast.

But I nuke the tbsp of PB in the microwave for about 10-20 seconds (makes it softer since I keep my PB in the fridge). Then I stir in the 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and really mix it up, and then stir in the 1/2 cup of Fiber One (or All bran, basically any high fiber low sugar cereal).

Yummy!

Looks like you are making some good food choices. Good job!!!! Keep up the good work and hang in there.

Take care
Keep on
Chris

Today was another really good day. I'm really seeing progress; not only in my body shape and composition, but also in my eating cravings and portion sizes. Plus I'm getting stronger and better at my workouts! Now let's just get that scale on board, but I know if I stick with what I'm doing it will start creeping down. I'm willing to wait it out!

Thurs. Report -
B - WW Bagel with 1 egg/1 egg white, coffee/milk
S - Orange, Lite Yogurt
L - At the conferece there were boxed entrees of chicken, veggies, and rice. I think the old me would have just eaten it all just because it was there and the food was 'healthy', but I only ate what I needed. Which ended up being about half the box. That's progress!
S- Small dinner roll
S - Triscuits/Cheddar Cheese
D - Leftover Salmon, Green Beans, Brown Rice, and 2 triscuits

Workout -
Couldn't make body sculpt today because of the meeting, so I tried to do extra after work -
Upper Body weights - 15 minutes
Step Class - 60 minutes
Ab Work after Step - 10 minutes

Water - I lost count, but I know it was good. No soda either.

Today I'm going to take a rest day, maybe do pilates, but basically taking it easy. My body was tired last night, and I'm worried I may be getting sick. I'll definitely work out on Sat and Sun though.

Hi there,

Just wanted to pop in and say hi!!!! Hope you are having a wonderful Friday!

Have a great weekend!

Sounds like you are doing good and as long as you can see progress, that's what counts!!!! The scale will make it, took me a little over 2 weeks to kick my scales behind but it finally started moving and once it did - whoohooo!!!!! :)

How are the WW bagels?

Have a good weekend
Keep on
Chris

Not sure if you think the WW stands for Weight Watchers, but it actually stands for Whole Wheat. They're the Sara Lee brand. They have 220 calories each and 6 grams of fiber. I'm all about the fiber! Not only to keep you full, but to keep things moving - if you know what I mean. Anyway, they're pretty good and not too big or too small. Obviously they're higher in carbs than just a piece of WW bread. But if I watch my overall carb in take the rest of the day, I don't mind having them. Everything in moderation, you know!

You are doing great! What a positive attitude! It is good that you are so patient with the scale. You are right, it will move eventually! :goodvibes

I am hooked on Sara Lee bread products. Have you tried the Whole Wheat Delightful bagels? They are only 130 calories w/24 g of carbs, 10 g of protein and 7 g of fiber. I love them! I have been bummed because the last 2 times I've been to the store they were out...

Keep it up! :cheer2:

Hi Allison-

Your food choices always look so good. I'm glad you are doing so well with avoiding tempation and not feeling so hungry. Good for you!

Today was decent. There was a luncheon at work that I did pretty well at avoiding some stuff, but also indulged as well. We also had some fun last night with friends which included some treats.

Friday's Results -
Food
B-Eggs, Toast w/ PB, Orange
Coffee/lf milk
L- Buffet so I took salad, carrots, a very small scoop of mashed taters, some meat kabobs, dinner roll/butter. Small serving of cobbler and ice cream and small serving of Apple Cider. I remember the last luncheon, and how I ate so much I almost made myself a little sick, so I think I'm definitely making better choices and getting fuller faster. Baby Steps, Baby Steps.
S- Lite Yogurt
S- Low Carb Tortilla with turkey and avacado
D- 1 1/2 chicken enchiladas from Trader Joes (330 calories per the box)
Went out with friends had some light beer and some chips and salsa.

Water - Very Good, 100 oz. +

Exercise - Planned rest day

Today and tomorrow are going to be super busy, so I hope that I have time to get some good exercise in this weekend!

Well, this is one hot and dry weekend. I woke up on Saturday at 10:00 and it was already too hot and sunny to go running. Just as well since I had a million errands to run anyway. So no exercise today, but I'm going to say I got 45 minutes of walking in. Not only at the mall and Target, but last night we went to a basketball game and had a very long run to and from our car.

Saturdays Report -
Food
B- Part of an omelette with cheese, green peppers, mushrooms and sausage WW bagel and an orange/coffee and milk
L - Plain Yogurt/granola
D - Were out with friends so we grabbed stuff at Whole Foods. I know I could have found something healthier, but I had a some stuff from the hot food buffet. Veggies, some pasta, fried chicken, teriyaki chicken :rolleyes1
S - small glass of milk

Not terrible, but probably should have just had sushi and fruit at Whole Foods.

Exercise - None official, but 45 minutes of walking

Water - Quite a bit, but should have had more with the weather being the way it is. I can't take it anymore, I just slather myself in moisturizer but it's not doing anything. At least I can take solace in the fact that my hair looks really nice in this weather! :smooth:

Today is more of the same weather. Although, I think it's even worse. I don't dare go running I think I might pass out. I'm going to do a lot of cleaning today so hopefully that will burn some calories! :rolleyes1

You did pretty good at the buffet! It's the desserts that always do me in... At least you managed to steer clear of those!

I know what you mean about trying to squeeze in exercise on the weekends. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't... Don't worry, you work out enough during the week and deserve a break on the weekends!

Keep it up, you are on the right track!

My goodness only 19 days until I leave for WDW! And only 2 days until we leave for my in-laws house. How the time flies! I'm so looking forward to both trips (well, to WDW just a tiny bit more ;) ).

Todays Activities -

Food
B-Kashi, Milk, banana & Coffee
L-Salmon, Green beans, Brown Rice
S-Triscuits/Orange
S-Lite Yogurt
D-1 cup serving Lasagna
S-DH and I walked to Baskin Robbins and I treated myself and got 1 small scoop of Rocky Road in a cup. It was so yummy and just the right size.

Exercise
I was very busy today running around and cleaning. I did 7 loads of laundry! That's a workout in itself since I have to go down a flight of stairs to the laundry room. I'll say 45 minutes of activity, plus we went for a walk so 20 more minutes, and I did about 10 minutes of arm weights.

Water - Lots and lots. The dryness is driving me nuts. I could never move to the dessert.

Here's to another week. Tomorrow there's a potluck at work, but I'm going to bring some healthy stuff to eat and I'm still going to go to the gym at lunch. We leave Tuesday afternoon, so lord only knows what I'll get to eat and when I'll workout this week. But it's a holiday, so I won't beat myself up too much.

I couldn't resist posting this now - I think I lost 2 pounds! The scale read 135 this morning! Yay! I'll record it in the challenge if it's still there tomorrow.

This certainly gives me incentive not to go hog wild this week!

Woohoo!!!!!! That is great!!! Yes, that is definitely an incentive to stay on track! Just remember - everything in moderation, stop eating when you feel full, etc. I think during the holidays the goal should be to maintain... And if you can lose, that is an added perk!

Keep it up! Good luck at the potluck tomorrow. Those are always hard because everything looks so yummy!

Well today didn't go super well with the potluck and all. But I think I did minimal damage by eating a smaller breakfast and not having snacks (did the knowing I was going to indulge in the potluck some).

Food -
B-My little cottage cheese concoction (Yum!)
S-Potluck pass 1 (cheese/crackers/etc)
L-Potluck pass 2 (main dishes) Diet Coke
S-Potluck pass 3 (desserts)
D-1/2 chicken breast, veggies, brown rice
S-Milk

Obviously, I had more at the potluck than I should have, but I won't beat myself over it. I will try to stick with my healthy snacks I am bringing on our 7 hour car ride tomorrow, instead of eating at McDonald's or something on the road.

Water -Lots, still really hot here.

Exercise -
Great,
Went running this morning 45 minutes, Also circuit training at lunch 45 minutes.

I'm definitely moving in the right direction!

Potlucks are tough. Thanksgiving will also be tough. Good plan with the heathy snacks in the car. Remember, any damage from this holiday will come off pretty quickly!

Have a great trip!

Good job on the loss. Potlucks are tough especially when things are out all day long. Sounds like you did as best as you could!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Keep on
Chris

Well I'm back from Thanksgiving! We had a lovely time, but I know I ate more than I should have on a few occasions. But we only go up to the in-laws once or twice a year so I don't feel too bad about. I do feel proud that I met my goal of getting at least 3 'official' work-outs in on the trip, plus yesterday we did quite a bit of walking when we went out. So I do feel good about that. Hopefully the scale will surprise me (in a good way) tomorrow. Starting tomorrow I'll be more strict foodwise. I only have 2 weeks until I have to wear a bathing suit! It's 80 degrees in Orlando right now, so I'm thinking we will go swimming at least a few times. Thank god I've been working out!

I won't go into everything I ate all weekend (more like week since I haven't posted since Monday!), but I'll report my exercise since it was good  :

Wednesday - FIL took me to the Y - 30 minutes elliptical/treadmill, 45 minutes weights, stretching, and abs
Thursday - (Turkey Day) - Jog for 70 minutes
Friday - Back to the Y - 30 minutes elliptical/30 minutes abs and weights
Saturday - Walked on and off all day (went to Golden Gate Park and I took their doggie for a long brisk walk :dog:) , but I'll be conservative and say 60 minutes

Foodwise was OK. My inlaws are relatively healthy eaters, but they eat more carbs than I'm used to so I feel bloated from that. Thanksgiving was really bad, I felt sick I ate so much. Why do I do that?!

Here's to a great week!
