Where did you find the pumpkin bagle and cream cheese. Those sound delicious!!

Oh, they were delicious Gradtchr! They were from Noah's Bagels. I don't think any other bagel company around here has the pumpkin flavored. You could probably make your own pumpkin cream cheese though by whipping some cream cheese with some pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. I haven't tried it, but I bet it would work.

Well, yesterday was fairly disastrous as far as eating and water drinking goes, but I did workout. I'm not going to let that throw me off my horse so to speak. But anyway here is the damage:

B - Kashi cereal and coffee with milk (not too bad yet)
L - Leftover teriyaki chicken, broccolli and brown rice (pretty good)
D - Ha! Well the wedding was pretty bad diet wise:
1 glass of White Wine
3 hor'doeuvres (but only one of each, see I started off OK!) chicken satay, fried coconut shrimp, and some sort of foccacia
2 glasses of champagne :rolleyes1
2 glasses of red wine (they kept refilling!) :rolleyes1
Starter-Ricotta ravioli - yummy!
Salad - Green salad with asparagus
Entree - 6 oz filet mignon with garlic mashed taters and some veggies, plus a small roll with butter
Dessert - Chocolate fondue fountain - 2 pretzels, 2 marshmallows Wow was this good!
Wedding cake - very small piece, and didn't eat much of the frosting, not very good
Plus a lemon drop shot!

If that wasn't bad enough, at midnight I made DH stop at McDonald's so I could get a 6 piece McNuggets  . I was soooo hungry! I guess from dancing and drinking, but I really had to eat something. I should have made myself a piece of toast at home, but the salty crunchy McNuggets sounded sooo good! Anyway I looked them up and they were only 250 calories plus I dip them in honey so probably 300 cals max. Not too bad, but I know I'm retaining water right now. Hmmm I'm glad I got my McDonald's craving out of the way. Won't go for another 5-6 months now.

Water - Probably only 40 oz or so. When I'm not sitting around all day I find it hard to get the water in.

Workout - Well besides the dancing at the wedding, I went for an hour walk/jog this morning. I actually ran more than anticipated so I was excited about it. I got my heartrate up and sweated, so I felt good about it. Plus I did some abs and arms. :cheer2: Today will be a true rest day, just running errands and doing chores, no 'real' exercise.

ETA - You know, besides the alcohol, I don't think the food was all that bad today. Hmmm.

Yeah, so Sunday wasn't so good either. This has always been my problem, I'm practically perfect during the week, and then on the weekend I suck. But that's not a good attitude to have either. I don't suck!

But anyway yesterday I had breakfast tacos (tortillas, eggs, cheese, avacado) and coffee with milk. For lunch I had a smoothie while I was out running errands. Then dinner we went with friends to TGIFridays. I had half a cheeseburger, fries, 2 potato skins, and some root beer. No wonder I had gained a few pounds today! Hopefully that was water weight.

Today we have a pot luck at work, but I did bring some healthy choices (a long with some cupcakes!) so I hope I won't do too much damage. We'll see. I definitely need more water.

We don't have a Noah's around here so I am going to have to keep my eyes open elsewhere for pumpkin bagels. I am in a pumpkin mood for some reason.

Weekends are really hard for me too. It's hard for me and hubby to get our snacks in and eating when we really just want to take it easy and go out to eat. There has to be an easier way to survive the weekend.

Have fun at the potluck!

Your weekend was almost the spitting image of mine! Except for the wedding I had a Halloween party...

I love ALL things pumpkin, I was drooling when you mentioned that bagel. Sounds YUMMY!

You will get back on track this week. That's usually how it goes - the week is made for undoing all the damage from the weekend. :rolleyes1

Well now that Halloween is over (and no more pot lucks) we're starting from a clean slate today. I signed up for the Christmas challenge, so that's extra incentive. So my junky slide is over, and now I can put some healthy stuff in my body again. I'll definitely be exercising today!

You're right, today starts a new month! We can get back on track! I have a bag of leftover candy sitting on my desk. I ate so much yesterday, it doesn't even look good to me...

Good for you joining the Christmas Challenge! I hope that is the motivation you need to stick with your plan. Have you joined the exercise challenge as well?

You are doing great, keep it up! :cheer2:

I was thinking about it, but am not sure what's an appropriate 'goal' for myself. When did it start?

I think it started last week, but you can join anytime. Just estimate how many days you think you will be able to work out, and for how long. Then add it up and that is your goal! I estimated working out at the gym 3x a week for 50 minutes, plus walking 5x a week for 40 minutes. That puts me right around 3000 minutes (from when I started last week).

Join in, it's really motivating! :cool1:

Yesterday was okay, but I was definitely snacky in the afternoon. I'm going to bring more healthy snacks today so I don't feel 'ok' to down some candy just because I'm hungry.

Anyway Tuesday:
Water - Excellent! at least 100 oz
Food - B-Eggs/Toastw/PB/Orange and Coffee & Milk
S-Apple
L-Chicken Parm (homemade) with tomato sauce and broccolli (no pasta), 3 halloween candies and a cookie (sigh)
S-Triscuits and cheese
D-Roasted Chicken and mashed taters and a cupcake (need to get rid of cupcakes!)
Workout - Excellent
45 min body sculpt
35 min elliptical
80 more minutes for workout challenge, I'll record my workouts the following Monday.

Today will be better! The scale is still too high from the weekend so I need to be dilligent if I want it to go down.

Good job with getting a plan and even though you didn't have a great weekend you are sticking to this and willing to start over. That is a great accomplishment in itself. And you have an exercise plan. Hang in there - you WILL do this!!!

Keep on
Chris

That weekend weight will come off in no time! My scale finally started going back down. I hope to be back at pre-party weight by the end of the week...

Aren't leftover baked goods the WORST?? I still have 4 cookies from this weekend and it is killing me to look at them everyday. You should take the cupcakes to work and be done with them!!!

Good for you joining the exercise challenge! It is cool to see your numbers increase every week. You are off to an awesome start!

Great plan to bring some more healthy snacks to work. I can't wait for the Halloween candy to disappear!!!

Keep it up, you are doing great!

DH is going to be taking some of the cupcakes to work tomorrow. I guess we'll throw the rest out. Better in the trash than on my hips. I guess I'll throw the 3 musketeers out too. I really don't need those either.

So the higher number on the scale scared me into being fairly good today.

Eating-
B-Kashi/banana/milk & coffee/milk
S-Orange
L-Soup and salad with minimal dressing, diet coke
S-Apple
S-Lite Yogurt
D-We ended going to costco, so we brought home a pizza, but I made sure that half was just cheese for me and I then only ate 2 slices with milk.

Water - 70 oz

Exercise
20 minutes pilates
45 minutes step class

So 65 more minutes for the Christmas exercise challenge!

Great job yesterday! Good control with the pizza, that is always a tough one... I hate throwing out food too, but sometimes it just has to be done.

You are doing awesome, keep it up! :cheer2:

Ok, so I have this exercise thing down, water basically down, but the eating is not quite up to par. Today I was starving after lunch, so I ate. But I'm not sure if I was truly hungry. I drank water and sat it out, but I still was hungry. It may be because my workouts have become more intense, but I don't know. This will be something to judge going forward:

Food
B-Eggs (2 whole, 2 whites), Toast/PB, Orange, coffee/milk
S-3 triscuits, one ounce cheese
L-Leftover chicken parm, tomato sauce, broccolli (no pasta)
S-Apple
S-1 cup cheeto-esque balls and like 3 pieces halloween candy
S-Lite yogurt
S-Gatorade (small bottle) after workout
D-Jambalaya rice and some sausage, smallish serving

So, I'm usually fine in the morning until lunch, and always fine after dinner. So it's getting from lunch to dinner that's the problem. I'm thinking I should up my calories at lunch. Or maybe even add a 'second' lunch (of course while decreasing the size of my first lunch ) I wonder how many calories I am eating in a day? I'd like to think it's at least 1800, but less than 2,000. I think with my activity level that seems like something I could lose at. I'm very wary about sending my body into starvation mode, it really messes with your metabolism.

Water-
~80 oz at work plus water at home plus gatorade after workout

Workout-
I really felt great about my workouts today. They really kicked my butt  !
Lunch - Body sculpt - lots of legs and arms. I'm going to be sore tomorrow! 45min
Afterwork - Step class - boy did I sweat! 60 min.

As far as my eating goes I'm just going to try to make the best choices possible (i.e. NOT halloween candy and NOT cheeze balls),and not get *too* anal about it yet. I'll focus on my workouts for now, and check my progress in a couple months. But I'm thinking a bigger, but still healthy, lunch might helpful .

:cheer2:

I think having a bigger lunch or some kind of snack with protein might help curb your appetite. My worst part of the day is from the time I get home until dinner. It is hard not to go overboard with the snacking, so I try to eat some FF cottage cheese or a LF string cheese or lunchmeat w/a corn tortilla. Also at lunch, maybe try something like a small sweet potato or something else that usually fills you up for a couple hours.

Have you ever tried www.FitDay.com? I started putting everything I ate on there and I was SHOCKED at how many calories I was really eating every day. It's free, check it out!

Your workouts are awesome, keep it up! :cheer2:

I think your right about upping the protein. I'll try that next week at work and see how that goes. I'll buy turkey breast and whole wheat tortillas and avacado. Hmm, doesn't that sound good!

Today was much better food wise, and since today was a rest today it was good exercise wise too ;) !

Food-
B-I woke up starving so I made myself an egg and cheese sandwich - 1 piece WW toast, lil butter, 2 eggs, 1 slice swiss cheese. It was good and very filling. I also had coffee and some milk. I was planning on having a smaller breakfast so I could have some of the pastries today (Pastry Friday!), but I actually didn't even want a pastry, so I felt good about this breakfast. Better to get some nutrition and protein than empty sugar.

S-Orange

L - Jambalaya/sausage & apple & a Diet Coke

S-Triscuits & cheese
My work had an anniversary party for somebody today so there was a cake. I didn't even want any! It had a fruity filling, so I passed. I did have a small fork full of frosting off of the tray, but that's it. Much kudos to me!

D-DH and I went out to a Mexican place. Had one margarita on the rocks, and water. Handful of chips and salsa, and half of a chicken fajita dinner (corn tortillas, chicken, peppers, black beans, pico de gallo, and a lil guacamole). No sour cream and cheese on anything. Anyway, it was still not 'great' but it was decently healthy. :cheer2:

Exercise
Pretty much rest day, walked at lunch for 45 minutes

Water
At least 90 oz. :umbrella:

Tomorrow we are going to a BBQ, so I plan to treat myself a little, but not *too* much. I hope to go running in the AM too.

What is it about that time between lunch and dinner??

I like your idea about the turkey on whole wheat. I know you are doing low carb, but maybe some whole grains would help? That way at least you wouldn't be getting any refined sugars. I also think some protien like the LF string cheese Amy mentioned or maybe FF yogurt could help.

Good job avoiding that cake!!!
