We are trying to pick a restaurant for Mother's Day and are considering Alfredos since we will be in Epcot.

Is this a good choice?

How does it compare to Mama Melrose (which we  )

Thank you!

Ate at both last trip and preferred Alfredo's much more. Mama Melrose just didn't do it for us. Be sure and get a cappuchino while there, I'm hooked now and I'm from Seattle (aka Starbucks Land).

I am a huge fan of Mama Melrose and have eaten there on 9 trips in a row. I had eaten at Alfredos back in 86 ad 95, but hadnt been back since. It wasn't I didnt like it, but I just never made it back there. On a quick weekend trip this past December my mother and I had 1 park day and since we were doing the CP, we went to Alfredos. I was a bit worried about missing MM, and thought I would be disappointed in Alfredos. Plus the mediocre reviews Ive read had me worried. We were pleasantly surprised.

We were in a rush as we had to be somewhere after dinner and and they were able to seat us before our PS time (we had tried changing that many times before we went). The service was great. Some might feel it was too fast, but like I said, thats what we were looking for that night so we were happy. I have also heard people complain the tables are too close, but that didnt bother us. The food was very good.

I have to say I would still prefer Mama Melrose over Alfredos, but we weren't disappointed in it at all. In fact I will be doing the CP Package again this year with my family and we will probably go to Alfredos again. :thumbsup2

Alfredo's is one of the few restaurants at WDW we will not go back. The tables are way too close together and the food mediocre. The CM who greeted us was quite rude because my DSIL choose to use the rest room before being seated.

Have you considered the Mother's Day buffet at Epcot? We went in 2003 and 2005 and enjoyed it a great deal.

I've always found the food to be very good at Alfredo's. I think its much better Mama Melrose. I've never had a problem the service there either. But the last time we ate there I did notice that the tables were really close together.

If it was only my mother and I going I would book this in a heartbeat as I would love to treat her to this.

However my DS who eats like a bird is also going and there is no way that I am paying $45 for a donut and a glass of milk

We eat at Alfredo's just about every time we go and we love it. I've never had a disappointing meal there. The service has always been good. Some of the tables are close, but that has never bothered us. Whatever your decision is, just enjoy.

We LOVE Alfredo's. We go at lunch when it isn't as crowded. We have eaten at Mama Melrose's and were less than thrilled with the food.

Tastes in Italian food seem so...I don't know.... personal. We've been dining at Alfredo's every trip since Epcot opened and would not miss it. We did MM 3 or 4 times and probably won't go back. It wasn't bad, but nothing extraordinary. :earsboy:

I have to tell you, we like both places. I think of Mama Melrose is a upscale pizza place. Alfredos is just UPSCALE....it reeks of ambiance!
Both have great food & wonderful service.
It depends on all the mothers in your family!!

I am some help, aint I?

We didn't like Alfredo's. The fettachini was way to cheesy, even for cheese lovers. However, they might have better dishes. Either way you choose you will have a good time.
