Hi,

We are considering dinner at Alfredo's on an EPCOT night before the fireworks. We do like Italian food.

What are your thoughts on this restaurant. Is it worth it?

Thanks.

I have been forced to eat there the last two trips (everyone gets a turn at choosing the restaurant...)--I outright refuse our upcoming trip! I found the food mediocre, the service horrible and the prices outrageous, even for Disney. We live in NE and have some of the best Italian food around....that being said...I have not been impressed by Alfredo's and will not go back.

We tried it last time against the advice of friends who tried it and we were very disappointed. The food was downright bad and the service was worse. There are so many great Epcot restaurants-this isnt one of them!!

I have read both good and bad reviews of every sinlge restaurant in WDW-including Alfredo's. I think we are going to try Alfredo's during our Feb trip-mostly because we will be on the dining plan and will not feel too bad about spending a ton of money if it's not so good. We love Fett Alfredo and so I think we will most likely order that. I am wondering how the gnocchi is since that is my favorite dish of all time. There are some reviews I agree with and some I don't. I have liked palces that get bashed here on the boards all of the time (like Sci Fi) and hated places that others seem to love (Ohanas) so i figure I will go and try it myself and be no worse off than I usually am since I always try one place I don't like/am dissapointed in on every trip! LOL! :rotfl:

well, let me different. we dined at alfredo's for candlelight several years ago and found it to be very enjoyable. i have to agree w/carrieberry about restaurants at wdw. some everyone loves and some everyone can't stand! :earboy2:

:earsgirl: We've dined at Alfredos 3 times and each time we had good meals. The restaurant was quite noisy, but we have children so sometimes a little noise can be a blessing. Also we brought a group of friends with us last time and everyone one of them enjoyed their meal as a matter of fact for one of them Alfredos has become their favorite. I would definitely dine there again.

Hi Fishy Mouse,

I think you've asked a question that can not be answered for you...everyone's taste is different. You'll never get agreement on Alfredo's or any other restaurant inside or outside of WDW!

My advice is: if you like what you see on the menu, give it a try. Then you can judge for yourself. If the menu does not appeal to you, don't go.

::MickeyMo We've eaten there a few times now and have enjoyed it every time. We really look forward to it on our trips. Our server this year was excellent. He was very efficient and friendly. He even helped us speak Italian! It was great. He explained anything we had questions with and didn't rush us at all. All of our meals (we dined with 2 other friends) were exceptional. Plates were cleaned off. Their veal scallopine is exceptionally delicious and you can tell that their pasta is homemade. Oh, and if you want the $50.00 cannoli (yes you can purchase it! probably feeds about 30 people comfortably), you have to call a day in advance. :) I'd give it a whirl. It may turn out to be one of your favorites. However, they no longer offer lasagna. Well, it wasn't on the menu when we went 2 weeks ago. Enjoy! ::MinnieMo

Luv4Disney is right. According to the menu on Deb's site, it lists the trio with ziti now instead of lasagne. Anyone know why?

Probably because their lasagne tastes like bologna and band-aids. I am not kidding. Even my DH agreed with me (which does not happen very often).

Their food was very very expensive. I would suggest eating at Portabella Yacht Club in DTD instead. :)

::MickeyMo I wouldn't exactly say it was "ziti." DBF had it and it was spaghetti with tomato sauce when he had it. Maybe they gave him spaghetti instead of ziti? I wonder now. You can't even order the lasagna separately either. It's just...gone. ::MinnieMo

Probably a good thing if it really was that nasty. Bologna and band-aids! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl: :rotfl: That is too funny!! Yeah, their lasagna wasn't the best, so it's probably an improvement. But the fettucine is to die for!!!

We went there last week and while the food was not exceptional, it was good and the service we had was great as well. It is a little loud, but most of the restaurants there are.

::MickeyMo The sampler platter is a good way to enjoy the fettucine because it fills you up very fast. It's heavy. It's almost like a heart attack on a plate. Plus, you get to enjoy their pasta, which is great, and the potato gonoche, which is also very good. ::MinnieMo

I'd give Alfredo's a miss if I were you. The food wasn't brilliant and the atmosphere is dull. We had to queue for ages as well to wait for our PS (I know that can be the case with other WDW restaurants but this was the longest wait ever had). Chefs de France is much nicer - if you haven't finished eating when fireworks start, they open the french windows and you can pop outside to watch them (or can see some from restaurant). Desserts are brill at France too! Or if its Italian you're after - Mama Melrose's at MGM is far superior food and you could tie that in with Fantasmic!

::MickeyMo We were seated promptly for our PS. And it was at 6:30pm - not exactly an "off-time" for dinner. I guess it all depends on your tastes and preferences. We like Alfredo's much better than Mama Melrose's. But that's just us. ::MinnieMo

I too thought I would be fine there as I ordered the signature dish-Fettucini Alfredo-I have never had such a disgusting dish of pasta. I sent it back b/c I was sure it must have had sour milk or bad cheese in the sauce. They brought me out a new dish and it was just as gross. The alfredo sauce is way too thick and clumpy and I dont know what they put in it to give it such a gross flavor but we wont eat there again. I think Alfredos is a place that people warn you not to go-but you have to try it for yourself. But I would suggest something simple, that they can't mess up.

we like alfredos. we go each trip & share a plate of the homemade fetticine alfredo :goodvibes & the dessert platter with a bottle of red.

I had heard good and bad about this restaurant but tried it and liked it. Service for us was good, food was good-not great but good. For me a lot of the food with the exception of the cold buffet that used to be in Norway :sad2: is good not great. But I am picky! I guess I decided to just try it and make my own decision! :wizard:
