I am still in shock at finding out that he is no longer with us. So sad.

Sad that someone took the easy road out without the consideration of others around them.

Suicide is NEVER the answer.

But when you are hopeless, there seems to be no other answer.

I just returned to the hotel from work and heard this on the news. Just too sad for words.

Your compassion is heartwarming.

Mr. McQueen was devastated by the death of his mother at the beginning of the month, and from all reports struggling emotionally. I can only imagine the depth of despair that would drive someone to take his own life, and my heart goes out to him and his family.

Ask anyone on here, I'm not exactly known for my compassion.

I wouldn't feel sorry for someone who killed themselves from overdosing on drugs, drinking or other forms of personal choice of death. I don't have tolerance or compassion for that.

The death of anyone is sad, but I've kinda gotta go with jlewisinsyr.

I've had one of the worst possible years, and my mother will probably not make it to the summer. I know what kind of crap he was going through. Actually, I have it worse since he was never in the financial situations that I have been on top of the sicknesses and deaths that I'm having to deal with.

Although maybe if he had to beg for food from a local church food bank he would have held more respect for life.

I understand the frustration and anger over someone taking their own life, those of us who have not struggled with mental illness cannot comprehend the action, and view it as cowardly or selfish.

After my daughter almost died of an overdose of her medication, I still struggle with the anger - the how could she - and the guilt - what kind of Mom am I that my daughter would rather die than continue to live with her family.

The reality is she was/is mentally ill with major depression, and consideration for others did not factor into her actions. And she says she cannot recall actually what she was feeling when taking the pills. As she had to open three vials, it was at least in someways thought out. But there is a blank in her mind of some of that night.

I did not know of this man, I am certainly not fashion aware as my clothing will proclaim, but I am sure he suffered from mental health issues.

May he rest in peace, and may we who do not suffer from mental illness have compassion with those who do.

Compassion.

Some people just aren't capable of having any.

Until I could get into someones head and physically see and feel what they are going through, I'm not going to judge them on as someone says, "taking the easy way out". I'm sure as hell would think that if life has gotten so bad that you wanted to take your own life, that it wasn't easy.......

I've been in some pretty rough patches in my life, some even where "taking the easy way out" was contemplated, but I never did it. Could I see how someone could get to that point?

Hell yes.

I guess I'll be compassionate.

You know, if I ever made a statement like that, I'd seriously have to evaluate who am I as a human being. :sad2:

Personally, I try not to judge people who make stupid mistakes in life, cuz lord knows I've made plenty!

Instead, I try to befriend people who are in need! Compassion and love are two traits that go a long way in this journey we call life!

I have to agree with you on this one. When I see people who are going through the most hellish circumstances still getting up every day, putting their heads down and plowing through-AND still having the ability to smile, laugh and bring happiness and caring to others-an action like this makes me shake my head.
