I am getting tired of these bracelets already and I have not even had them a year. Is it just me? They are not precious metal and I am guessing that is why they are popular because they are affordable. I have been wearing my own creation of these for at least 5 years. I had charms soddered on to my bangle bracelets. I guess it is like the Pandora, people went nuts for them but then they just got to be so NOT unique that they died out. I must say I do like that they are made in the USA.

I just won an Alex and ani and gave it to my daughter. I don't like the sound- that would drive me nuts. Everyone wears them here-adults kids. I think they are more for kids. It's like a status symbol how many you have. You can't even see them when you wear ten of them.

My daughter has a pandora-I am not impressed either. Probably because of a commercial where this woman talks about her "red hot love bead".

I live in MA too do you think it is just NE thing? They are made in RI.

My thoughts on the whole Alex and Ani bracelet phenomenon.

Alex and Any bracelets are now what Cape Cod bracelets and modular charm bracelets were 10 years ago! Cape Cod bracelets and modular charm bracelets were all the rage back then...remember?

Besides, it give guys like me one more idea on what to get our wives/girlfriends/fiancee's. Yes, I bought my fiancee 2 of them for Christmas....and did you know there are 4 Disney ones? :)

Let's just say I already have her birthday present picked out.....which will just happen to be while we're on our honeymoon at WDW in September!

LOL If you get a chance go to the store in NEWPORT it is great, three floors and all the sales staff have no less than 25 bracelets on at one time.

I am going to google Alex and Ani bracelets. Never heard of it before.

I had to google, too. Looks just like Pandora's different lines.

Looks like overpriced junk to me. I think they are cute, but I would never buy them because they are too expensive considering what they are.

Okay so my guess was correct only the people in NE are aware of this. They are overpriced junk but the thing is much like Pandora if you buy one at a time it seems like a reasonable price but once you add up what you spend you realize you could have had a piece of classic quality jewelry that would stand the test of time.

I have two of them. I like them. They are lightweight. I don't plan on getting many more, though as I wouldn't enjoy an armful of them. I'm from MA, too.

I saw them in Ogunquit so I am pretty sure the rest of the country has no idea that they are.

I'm from RI and I do have a few bracelets - in fact my sister in laws and I went to the flagship store 2 weeks ago and all bought hummingbird bracelets to honor our late mother in law.

p.s I also have Pandora and Brighton bracelets - call me a bracelet junkie!!

I have a couple - I'm in MA on the RI border and they're pretty big here. I don't wear all of mine at once (I think I have 6 and about 3 of those were gifts -and I've given a few as gifts, too) but they all are different - I have my initial and my birthstone and I even have a Disney one with the castle on it (that I always get compliments on because you can only get them in Disney World). I don't wear mine every day but I do wear them often enough. I like them much better than my Chamilia bracelet, which is uncomfortable and I think the beads are kind of ugly.

I love bracelets but I had never heard of these before either, until my DD15's boyfriend gave her two of them for her birthday last fall. She loved them and wore them every day. Then one day she freaked because one of them was missing its main charm; it had fallen off. Fortunately we found it in the house. DH fixed it and we thought all was good. Then it fell off again outside somewhere and luckily she found it again. Now they sit on her dresser and she's afraid to wear them. She won't take it back because it won't be the same one. I guess she'll have to write to the company or take it to a jeweler to fix. Kind of a pain. So IMO they are somewhat fragile.

Look at the Kit Heath Beachcomber braclets.....I got some of those for a song and they are not at all popular in the US. That is what I like about them.

Bring them back they will replace it for you up to a year. They are just wire. They call them Russian Sliver and Russian Gold .....nice way to say wire.
