Found a great alternative to take out Pizza. Aldi.
But it is only $5.99 !!!!!!!
They have a not frozen, in the cold meat area,
It is wrapped in plastic, and packaged in a Pizza take out box. Family size pizza, I get 12 slices out of it.
They have extra cheese and pepperoni that we like.
I think it was 15 minutes at 425?

I got three and one we froze in quarters. :thumbsup2

funny you should mention this....we had this for dinner last night for the first time. It was really good, ESPECIALLY for 5.99!

Wegmans brand is only 3.99.. just putting it out there!

Having had both ALDI and Wegman's, the ALDI one tastes much better and it is signigicantly better. :)

I love ALDI for staples like milk, eggs, flour, etc. And generally hit Giant or Wegman's for the rest. But after recently trying the ALDI pizza, we started buying that one over the other. Sadly, it gets smushed a bit in my fridge, because it is so big.

Some of my Aldi grocery list items
The sugar, a true 5 lb bag
Canned veggies
Boxed broth
Eggs Milk butter, mainly as it keeps me out of the larger stores
Baking items

Last trip I bought hamburger for chile during the Wed. storm, I was surprized it was vacuum plastic top, not just cello wrap. The day of expiry was days away. I used it Saturday and it still had no discoloring. Had fat to the type I bought but tasty.

I buy the frozen Chicken strips

Tuna and chicken packs on crackers 99 cents

Bread and hotdog rolls/hamburger
(the hot dogs were very skinny)

Bagels! Cream cheese, Cold meat turkey packs

Celery, carrots, peppers,

I bought the Frito type snack and it was a nice size filled bag, very tasty too!

yea...it's huge, and not bad at all! I usually add some extra cheese,etc- but it's a great alternative to takeout(I usually make my own,but this works when I'm busy)

I bought one of those take & bake pizzas a couple of months ago, when I visited an Aldi in a different town. (Ours doesn't have them. :confused3) We really liked it, and it was HUGE!

I love Aldi in general. The only thing we've bought there that no one liked is the salsa...but I've heard plenty of other people say they like it, so it's just our crazy taste buds.

I will have to remember to pick one up next time I am there. I love Wal-mart's fresh pizza so I hop Aldi's measures up.

I too love Aldi's for staple items.

My list:
Milk
Cheese (shredded)
Cream Cheese
Sour Cream
Canned Veggies
Frozen Chicken
Boxed broth (I love their chicken broth yummy)
carrots
celery
potatoes

Thanks for the headsup. I am going to Aldi's in the morning.

I love Aldis! However, I did go today and since last weekend they had raised the price of canned vegtables $0.06 per can. They are still cheaper than other stores unless they are having a sale but since I go with a set amount of cash and what I need I had to improvise a little. But we love most everything we have tried.

We just spent $98 today at ALDI and got SO much food! It's amazing the deals they have and I love to shop there.... we got (from memory... not the entire list either)

Fresh veggies--mushrooms, celery, lettuce, carrots, cucumber
Fresh fruit--pears, bananas, apples
eggs
milk--3 gallons, yes we drink alot of milk!
shredded cheese
salsa
cookies (oreos & iced oatmeal)
5 big bags of chips for .99 each!
hoagie buns
frozen italian sub meat
cheese enchilada meal ($9.99 but enough for all of us twice over)
chicken pot pies
canned fruit
jello
cereal
canned veggies
applesauce
candy (starburst, hershey's mini's, etc) for my family sweet tooth! LOL

Holy cow I don't even know what else, but we love to shop there. Their cereal is the best around, salsa is the only kind we like, bread is great for .99 per loaf... milk was $1.89 today~ we love Aldi!

Thanks for posting about the pizza though, we saw them but did not pick one up. We definitely will pick one up next time though, they are SO big!

I can't wait until our Aldi's opens this spring!

For our pizza fix, I buy the plain crust from Sam's...you buy them at the snack bar, 14 for $16. They are good sized--maybe 16"? By the time we put everything on them, they are usually about $3 each.

We love to make white pizza, which we previously ordered from the local shop at $14.99 each.

DS16 also makes a great "nacho pizza" and DD13 loves to make dessert pizzas.

We're not big fans of the salsa either - it's too tomato paste-y (if that's a word!) for us.

Interesting! I didn't know that you could buy the plain crusts from Sam's. Are they refrigerated or frozen? Is there an option for buying a smaller quantity? How long do you bake them for at home? Thanks! :)

They also have really good chicken nuggets. They are the wild animal shaped ones in the bag (I think they were $3.99). They taste so much better than the name brand nuggets!!

When we buy crust and make our own, we have Buffalo wing pizza, LUV that. We get the cheese and chicken strips from Aldi. DS works security there and it helps to have him bring home a pie or two. :thumbsup2
