OK, I'm not real versed in drinks. I know what I like, but my 23 year old wants to try an alcoholic drink, but she doesn't want to taste the alcohol. Our last trip was her first ever drink of this kind and was a stawberry daquari from Calf. Grill. She took one sip :lmao: I got to drink the rest. Can anyone give me a few ideas, as our next Disney trip is this August and she's looking forward to trying something again. She's not into coconut or pineapple. She loves ice cream and watermelon. She also like fruit punch and berry flavored things.
I appreciate your help, and if by chance you have any pictures of the drinls, could you post them with your suggestions. Thank you so much!:worship::worship:

I was going to suggest the Banana Cabana that they sell at most pool bars until you said she's averse to coconut and pineapple. I don't taste the alcohol in those. Most resort pool bars go pretty light on the alcohol for most drinks.

ETA: Try the Canta-Loopy from the China Pavillion at Epcot. Or the Tangierine Cocktail from Morocco. Or the Grey Goose Slush from France. I'm still not completely convinced the Grey Goose Slush actually has Grey Goose in it, LOL.

Your daughter sounds just me. I'm 43 and I still don't like the taste of alcohol! :rotfl: I'll be watching to see what suggestions people have. Sometimes I will order a virgin version of a drink to get the good flavor without the stingy alchohol taste. ;)

My favorite drinks are the Pina Colava from every bar in WDW and the Grand Marinier from France, but this won't be good for your DD since the Pina Colava has both coconut and pineapple in it while the Grand Marinier has an alcohol taste to it. I wish I could help you out more.

The irony is that the more sugar the drink has the drunker she'll get. Why not start with a rum and coke? It's still sweet but it's not larded with all those syrups and and other liquors.

Get her a smoothie, then take her on the tea cups 4 times in a row.

The Sci-Fi dinner has adult versions of milk shakes, that might be good. I haven't tried one, but it's on my list of things I'd like to try.

:)My fav is the Lava Smoothie at the pool bar at Kidani--it is non alcoholic (sorry) and fantastic--it has a berry slushy flavor.

DH and I also get the house resling wine at California Grill--it is very sweet and doesn't really taste at all like wine--gives you a good buzz.

I agree with rum and coke--Malibu Rum has a slight coconut flavor but it isn't overwhelming and she may like it. It isn't as coconutty as a Pina Colada.

I am sure Mexico has all the Margaritas she could want.

The Mango smoothie slushy thing at China is fantastic--and I would add a little vodka.

Everything from WDW that I would recommend has either coconut, pineapple, or tastes like alcohol.

My suggestion is Seagram's Sweet Tea Vodka mixed with iced tea (no one I know can taste the alcohol). Just tell her to be careful when she stands up :lmao:

Black Russian or White Russian...

Vodka... traditionally lower level of alcohol "taste" and "smell"
mixed with Kahlua (black russian) which then masks the alcohol taste or Kahlua and cream (white russian) which again masks the alcolhol taste.

Good Luck!

go with the slushies in France. The lemon one is mixed with Grey Goose vodka. The orange one with Grand Marnier. I don't really like the orange one, it tastes like baby aspirin.

Go to Mizner's Bar--the small bar on the second floor of the Grand Floridian, located close to the lobby area for Citrico's and V&A. The atmosphere is great! Enjoy the music and the bar nibbles they serve.
The bartenders there have a better than average knowledge of 'classic' and modern cocktails. Order a Brandy Alexander--if you want it diluted, have it on the rocks.
A Brandy Alexander is a combination of brandy, cream and creme de cacao--so it tastes like chocolate. It may be served with a maraschino cherry, if my memory is accurate. It is the drink Jack Lemmon recommended to Lee Remick in "Days of Wine and Roses" as not tasting like alcohol.
The other drink your daughter might want to try is a Screwdriver--vodka and OJ on ice. Not as romantic as a Brandy Alexander, but by far easier to find, and it just tastes of orange juice, with something undefinable added.

Have her try the Beverly at Epcot. After that, a shot of any alcohol will be a welcome change;)

my go-to drink in college when i was a rookie drinker was peach schnapps with sprite...not exactly disney specific but oh so sticky :rotfl:

Sounds like you want a Mudslide! I know Coral Reef has them...

Why don't you order a pina colada for yourself and get her to try it. I think this is absolutely the most delicious, doesn't-taste-like-alcohol drink ever invented. I could literally drink these into oblivion.

I would suggest a Midori Sour. I dont like alcohol either, but i love this one. Its bright green and to me tastes like a jolly rancher green candy!

why doesnt she just drink a virgin cocktail? If she doesnt like alcohol the drinking virgin cocktails will feel like she is not missing out.

DH and I had the Marsha's martian and Space monkey at Sci-Fi-both were gorgeous...

Lunar Landing - amaretto, peach schnapps and orange juice $9.50
