I know I can bring 2 bottles or 6 beers, but can anyone tell me if the beers have to be in a can? Or if I can bring 6 bottles of wine coolers (I like seagrams ). They are in a bottle and says flavored beer on the side of the bottle.

The website says "6 beers (no larger than 12 oz)". No specification as to whether in cans or bottles. Are the bottles 12 oz or less?

I was wondering the same thing. I don't like beer but I do like Smirnoff. I wonder if I could bring those.

The alcohol restriction is "2 bottles of wine or champagne (750ml) OR 6 beers (12 oz) on embarkation and in ports of call".

Unless Smirnoff is wine, champagne, or beer, it's not allowed.

Well, I wasn't sure since Smirnoff Ice is a malt beverage and comes in small 6 pack bottles (like beer) and has the same alcohol content as beer, if it would be considered a beer. I don't know enough about alcohol to know the distinction. I have called and asked a couple of different times to be sure but I got a different answer depending on what CM I talked to. That is why I was asking for first hand experience.

In late October, we carried on a rolling suitcase with our 4 bottles of wine, some bottled water and 6 cans of sparkling water. The security person looking at the scanner was not concerned. They seemed to only be looking for blatant offenders so you would probably be fine if you want to try it.

Possibly the security person wasn't concerned because he didn't see anything to question.

What you brought on was within the parameters allowed.

The cans could have easily been beer instead of sparkling water. I'm certainly not disagreeing with you, you stated the rules very clearly. My point was that Disney/PC security seems to be giving people a little wiggle room, which I can appreciate. Whether or not someone wants to take advantage or not is up to them. I know better than to encourage alcohol smuggling on this forum:)

In the US the smirnoff coolers tend to just be malt-based. Beer is malt-based. So...
I get that. But the question is - will DCL recognize it as "beer". I'm not sure, but I'm guessing, unless it says "beer" it won't be.

If I'm wrong, then the people wishing to bring such items onboard will be able to do so.

if the label says flavoured beer and you are allowed 6 X 12oz beer I can't see how they can deny you as long as each bottle is 12oz or less

That's what I'm figuring, also. But, if it doesn't actually say "beer", even though it's a "malt-based liquor" with an alcohol content the same as beer, the question is - will that also be allowed?

I personally wouldn't count on it. If it were me if the label had the word beer printed on it I would feel like I had something but if not I wouldn't expect any guarantee that I could keep my alcohol. Here in Canada Smirnoff coolers are a different product than they are in the US. Our coolers are vodka fruit flavoured drinks but I understand that in the US they are actually brewed as beer and that may be why the OP noticed they say flavoured beer on the label.

Eta- I just noticed OP said Segrams and it was another poster who said Smirnoff. I think you can only be sure if the word beer is actually printed on the label
