Alcohol in Magic Kingdom

Well, after being run over by people thinking a stroller is a modern day battering ram, being stuck in line with parents who think that junior can do no wrong so he can randomly run into guests in the queue as he races back and forth, watching the family have a screaming hissy fit, having my meal time interrupted by "Little Miss Food Fight" (whose parents encouraged this by throwing food back at her) and so on... it's the park I am most likely to need a drink in LOL!

I will take the well behaved "Drunks" at World Showcase any day over the out of control kids and clueless parents at MK (Hint to the parents, after the 20th version of "if you don't stop that we are leaving", the kids have figured you out! If you meant it they would have been long gone. Don't bother continuing with threats you don't mean)

(That said I only go once every few years for a few hours so I have not resorted to smuggling!)
Then head over to BOG for dinner, your resort, WS or DTD and by all means have that drink!! I didn't say no one should drink at all. My post was about people feeling the need to smuggle it into the MK. I don't think it's necessary when there are other options.

Soooo dangerous (not to mention wrong). A baby in the news recently was mistakenly given vodka in it's bottle when mixing formula - taken from a 'water' bottle! This was a 6 wk old baby with a blood alcohol of .294. She miraculously survived. Seems like anyone can survive a few hours/day in MK without having to have alcohol. Focus on your kiddos.
You can smell vodka, you can't smell water. That just sounds like negligence. And for you to carry alcohol into the park at all while you're walking around with a baby is asinine. Your kids are priority, not your 2 minute need to take a swig behind Cinderella's Castle.

What they need to do at WS is give people a band and punch a hole with each drink. When the all spots on the band are punched, no more alcohol can be purchased. They could also use the Magic bands to help control it.

The problem with that is who is Disney to determine what your tolerance is? I am a gal that booze hits pretty hard so 2-3 for me and I am done (saves me some $$$), but my sister on the other hand can do 10+

I wonder if @wdwfanva was getting at was less about tolerance, but more of a social responsibility to keep people safe in the parks, especially since there are children around. Isn't WDW supposed to be a place to have great fun without seeing what you could see at home on a Friday night?

And no one is saying you cannot, there areany,Amy places to habe what ever.you wish. However the MK is a specail park. The US MK parks have always been dry and there is.not.resin to change now. WALT always said they should be dry.

That said, I am not going to start this debate again as I know others feel different. Any thing we say is meaningless and Disney will do as they wish , as they systematically destroy the Disney Magic.

AKK
Please tell me this is "drunk typing" sarcasm.

Possibly, I don't need to see stumbling people at WDW, but can you imagine the uproar if Disney tried this idea lol, looked what happened when they limited what you can bring into your cruise!!

Haha, I can definitely hear the roaring right now! My ears hurt!

I've never experienced a Disney cruise, so I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I can imagine that it wasn't a pretty sight. Do you care to explain?

Funny how so many people complain about the all the drunks in the WS showcase as a reason not to sell alcohol in MK but never mention AK, HS or Disney Springs.

I honestly have not encountered any drunks at any of the other parks but we are not typically there at night. We do hang out at Epcot into the evening hours.

If all the drunks at WS were well-behaved, I would be fine with it. Unfortunately, they haven't been. We've been ran over by them, had drinks spilled on us and been vomited in front of at the Norway bakery. My children have never done that kind of thing. And I am not one of those parents who doesn't follow through with threats...I know the ones you mean, and they annoy me too:)
