Alcohol in Magic Kingdom

Wondering if there is alcohol at Skippers, and that would make 2 restaurants that serve, how long til you can just buy it ? I mean a Beer at Casey's with a nice hot dog would be amazing, and disney isn't exactly one to give up on the money they would be making off the sales.

No you can't bring beer in !! Magic kingdom is a family park not a place to tailgate in the parking lot. It's not a back yard bbq either!!

Epcot and the F and W has already created a problem for non drinking and light drinking guests with other heavy drinkers being disruptive

Well I agree there are reports of this I have never seen it myself thankfully (not denying it happens), but I think there is a massive difference between being served alcohol at a TS restaurant and having it widely available at kiosks.
I have never seen a problem at Universal where it can be purchased at many locations either.
Personally I would really like to see it available at all of the TS restaurants in MK and wouldnt mind seeing in at Gastons Tavern either, as well as the Rum Dole whip in Adventureland.

If you can't make it through a day at Disney World without alcohol then you have a very serious problem. It is called alcoholism

Nope, but i'm on holiday and if I want to enjoy a drink with lunch or dinner I should be able to.

And no one is saying you cannot, there areany,Amy places to habe what ever.you wish. However the MK is a specail park. The US MK parks have always been dry and there is.not.resin to change now. WALT always said they should be dry.

That said, I am not going to start this debate again as I know others feel different. Any thing we say is meaningless and Disney will do as they wish , as they systematically destroy the Disney Magic.

This might be the most ridiculous post I have ever read on the Dis....have you ever known an alcoholic?? Comparing someone who might enjoy a beer at dinner on vacation to an alcoholic is ignorant at best.

Comparing to World Showcase is apples to oranges. You can obtain alcohol in many places at WS without having a meal. Serving alcohol at a TS with meals is not going to cause vomiting in most cases.

Would I enjoy an adult beverage with dinner? Of course - a glass of wine at CRT would be lovely. Is it necessary at MK, I don't necessarily believe so, and I do thoroughly enjoy alcohol! If it is there, I will order it. If not that is ok, too!

I don't have a problem with restaurants serving alcohol with dinner. I don't think anyone is going to be hanging around a bar at CRT or Crystal Palace just pounding them back! Having a glass of wine with dinner in those places would be fine.

However, when people start talking about how to sneak alcohol into the parks, to me that's just sad....

You are in denial.

Have I ever known an alcoholic? Well for starters both my parents are dead alcoholics. I have several living relatives who are alcoholics who might as well be dead. It is a horrible disease and the first thing it does is warp your mind to convince you that you don't have a problem. If alcohol is that important to you that you can't make it though the day then you definitely have a problem. Prepare yourself for a miserable old age and a horrible death.

I'm sorry but you are being absolutely ridiculous right now. Having grown up in that environment (so did I BTW and there is zero chance the alcoholic I grew up with ever would have made it to WDW in the first place), you should know that calling someone an alcoholic is not something that should be done lightly. Not one single person on this thread said they couldn't make it through the day at MK without alcohol....no one. Just because you have witness people who are addicted to alcohol does not mean that every single person who enjoys a drink on vacation is an alcoholic.

I agree! It's one thing to have a drink with dinner but I just don't understand the need to smuggle alcohol into the MK? o_O

Well, after being run over by people thinking a stroller is a modern day battering ram, being stuck in line with parents who think that junior can do no wrong so he can randomly run into guests in the queue as he races back and forth, watching the family have a screaming hissy fit, having my meal time interrupted by "Little Miss Food Fight" (whose parents encouraged this by throwing food back at her) and so on... it's the park I am most likely to need a drink in LOL!

I will take the well behaved "Drunks" at World Showcase any day over the out of control kids and clueless parents at MK (Hint to the parents, after the 20th version of "if you don't stop that we are leaving", the kids have figured you out! If you meant it they would have been long gone. Don't bother continuing with threats you don't mean)

(That said I only go once every few years for a few hours so I have not resorted to smuggling!)

How nice you've encountered only well behaved drunks at World Showcase. We've encountered the obnoxious kind. One guy was so wasted he was actually yelling at my two year old in her stroller. She was napping, by the way. It was 4pm. Not 11pm. It's because of these instances that I'm totally opposed to alcohol at MK, and I enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer just as much as the next person.

Funny how so many people complain about the all the drunks in the WS showcase as a reason not to sell alcohol in MK but never mention AK, HS or Disney Springs.

I would guess that is because so many people make a game of drinking around the World, and thus, may overindulge more at Epcot than the other parks. However, I agree it's a flawed argument to say that because some people are drunk at the WS, MK shouldn't have alcohol...it would be much more comparable to AK or DHS, where you really rarely see anyone intoxicated.

I actually love that you can have a drink in World Showcase, I think it adds something really valuable there. MK however, no, It just feels wrong to me that alcohol is available in any capacity at Magic Kingdom. When I finally have children I want to be able to take them to MK without worrying about bumping into drunk people.

Thanks for the replies everyone - clearly a good topic for debate! Lol!

My only reason to ask is not because my DH wants to get drunk, nor is he an alcoholic - it's simply because I thought he'd enjoy sitting on the bench watching the world go by, eating a hot dog and drinking a nice cold beer whilst me, my friend and our little girls enjoy lunch in CRT.

Just remember which water bottle contains water and which one contains vodka. Take a chug from the wrong one on a hot day, and it won't be pleasant. LOL!

Soooo dangerous (not to mention wrong). A baby in the news recently was mistakenly given vodka in it's bottle when mixing formula - taken from a 'water' bottle! This was a 6 wk old baby with a blood alcohol of .294. She miraculously survived. Seems like anyone can survive a few hours/day in MK without having to have alcohol. Focus on your kiddos.

I've definitely witnessed people sneaking drinks into the park in a flask or a water bottle. Not saying you should do that. It's not allowed.
