Hi All,

My partner and I have booked our 2 week trip to Florida for September and getting very excited! :cool1:

Neither of us will be driving and we would like to have a drink or two with our evening meals, we are 21 and 22 - so just older enough!

What form of ID should we take with us as we are expecting to be asked every time we order a drink!? We both have driving license which we didn't plan on taking but do not fancy carrying our passport around with us?!

Would a driving license be OK?

We will may not drink at all but giving the right mood it would be nice to have the option!

I've always used my photo driving licence and never had a problem.

Most definitely take ID otherwise you wont get served they are really strict over there.
I always use my Driving licence, I'm guessing you would have the photo one due to your age, so that would be fine.
I always keep mine in my purse. We always carry our id's just incase we were ever asked for id at one of the gates to the park (happened at DTD when my ticket wouldn't work)

We both took our photo licences and got asked whenever we ordered drinks at bars or with meals - so make sure you have it on you!:)

Thank you all!

We both keep our driving license on us in the UK out of habit any way, will be sure we take them to avoid carrying the passports around with us! We do have the photo one yes, would there be any need to keep a photo copy of our passport too?

Driving license worked fine in Vegas so should be the same in WDW!

I took my driving licence photocard and that was fine.

But I did also take copies of our passports along aswell, just keeping them separate from our actual passports incase we did loose them to allow us to have the information we needed from them if necessary. It was just for peace of mind really, never had to use them though :thumbsup2

I always take my Driving License when in the US.. it is smaller than a passport & is also waterproof.. just in case your bags get wet on the water rides! ;)

Last trip we did have a CM at the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk who suggested that we carry our passports too because the Driving Licences weren't ok.. !? .. but we explained that they were equally as good for identification, and we still got served anyway!

I remember one female CM actually really really liking our driving licenses.. she said "wow, they're pink!" ... :rotfl:

You might have to point out where your date-of-birth is on the driving license or passport as sometimes the servers aren't sure where to look on EU ones ;)

Both mine and OH got knocked back with our driving licence in Los Angeles. The girl said they weren't allowed to accept them and most places wouldn't. However in Vegas I think we got ID'd a total of once, never got asked any other time and I'd literally just turned 21 and OH was 22.

I've read on other forums of people using photocopies of their passports as ID.

even thought i am a litle bit older than 21(47 :rotfl2:)we are still asked for id when we buy alcohol from some supermarkets,i know i look young:rotfl2:think its just policy in some places, Super target and publix come to mind.again drivers photo id ok

My DH was most amused to be ID'd when buying beer - he was 32 and the guy behind the counter made a big thing about about how young he looked. When DH produced his drivers license the cashier started shouting "Oh my gosh, you were born in seventy two, man you are looking young!"

So expect to be Id'd everytime!

i must look young as i have trouble getting served over there hubby never gets asked i always do!

Just wanted to add that I haven't passed my test yet and so only have a provisional license. I've used it without issue to get served in Vegas and Disney. Although very oddly, most times I bought alcohol I wasn't asked for ID and that included inside WDW where I thought they were super strict? I found it very strange that a 21 year old wouldn't get ID'd most of the time?

I don't get Id'd all the time ether when I was 25 I only got Id'd once at the rose and crown and I had quite alot to drink that trip however last year at 26 I got Id'd everywhere accept at the pool bar at Music. I use my provisional license too without any problems
