We did receive a mini bottle of Captain Morgan in an FE on one cruise but that was ages ago before the current alcohol restrictions were implemented. I would think this is a mute point because there is no way for this to be done with the current restrictions unless they are planning to distribute their 2 bottles of wine/6 beers they are allowed. Otherwise they are going to spend their time/money and find it confiscated.
Of course, that 2 bottles of wine/6 beers limit is also allowed at ports of call, besides just embarkation day. If someone on a cruise with a lot of ports, they could stock up that way.

We did also, back in 2013 when FE were very unstructured & mostly trinkets. We received mini bottles of alcohol from 3 different families, which was disappointing because we don't drink, but the FE wasn't broken up into small groups like it is today, so we received plenty of other items. We didn't cruise again until 2021, and were surprised to see how much FE has changed & haven't participated in anything except an ornament exchange, which is much less complicated in our opinion. :)

I was very surprised by a conversation elsewhere recently where cruise group admin were discussing Adult FE - they make it sound like it's very common to get "adult" items in the Adult FE. They also mentioned alcohol.

When was the last time you gave or received alcohol in an FE?

Someone is trying to convince me it’s very common and that an adult FE should be 21 and older. My thought is alcohol gifts are not common IF even given at all anymore (DCL rules). That an adult FE group with 16 and older is fine because anyone that can drive a car, do pre-calculus, algebra, geometry, dissect a frog, explain the branches of our government and go through mandatory sexual education should be considered an adult. Many kids graduate from high school at 17.
I am interested in the answers even if you no longer participate in FE’s but did decades ago.
Perhaps you might want to research what religions are against or prohibit alcohol. This involves milions of people. Some people who drink are insensitive to those who don't. Those who dont drink are sometimes bullied and criticized. So it can become an emotionL issue very quickly.
I know the op isn't meaning this at all. I am not implying anyone here is. I'm simply raising awareness.
Giving such a gift should be done carefully and not involve strangers.
It could easily be taken as an insult and be very hurtful.

I was one of those non-alcohol non-dancing religions for a while. I do not wish to give or have ever considered giving alcohol or adult content gifts. There’s just a lady out there, trying to convince me that it happens all the time. I’m still thinking that the pole is showing out of the thousands of people who are on this site. Only one person has given/ received alcohol since Covid.
Pretty much my overall feeling is nobody’s giving sexual items or controlled substances such as alcohol near as frequently as she claimed. I think my first adult FE group was around 2013 and I still haven’t gotten anything that would be inappropriate for a 13-year-old. I’m 60 years old and didn’t start cruising with Disney until in my 40s.
I think that the reasons you stated above are why many people did not go in that direction anyway. So that and the tightening of the alcohol restrictions I think is why it doesn’t really even happen at all anymore.

We've never participated in FE. I don't really understand it and I don't want to end up with a bunch of stuff to toss. Heck, we even leave some of the cabin gifts. That said, and I guess me being old, I don't think alcohol is appropriate to gift to a complete stranger. I apologize for being a 'wet blanket'.

Agree on alcohols as an FE. Seems like family time doesn’t support that mentality. Although I don’t drink beer, I feel the exchange of local craft beers by in-person exchange is fun from a perspective of a foodie lover. Not let’s get hammered kinda thing.
