Alcohol at MNSSHP?

So are you guys saying I won't be able to enjoy glass of Vino with my BoG ADR? I thought they serve vino and beer at dinner - is this restricted at MNSSHP?

Here's what I see all the time. The OP merely asked if it was possible to get alcoholic beverages at MNSSHP. She was told no. She said that's cool, we'll have a drink in the room before we go. She didn't even say "gosh that sucks, you should be able to get a drink." And somebody comes in here and says "if you feel the need to drink then stay home." Where did that come from, was that even necessary?

Sadly, that food blog linked above said that you can only use a snack credit on the non-alcoholic version.

I for one know what my first RD stop is at AK from now on!

Figured so...I mean that would be one heck of a use of a snack credit. Man, I only have 1 day at AK planned and no hoppers. Maybe I should consider hoppers so I can get one or five each day of my trip. =)

I think people tend to overreact on threads like this on both sides. People who would like an adult beverage (and intend to be rational while drinking it) get painted with the broad brush of people who consider alcohol + vacation = SPRING BREAK!

There's nothing wrong with wanting an adult beverage and acting like a mature human being while drinking it. Unfortunately, it's difficult to police that without outright banning alcohol in the park. And posts encouraging people to break the rules and bring alcohol in anyway just fuel the fire.

We went to Epcot on a Disney Trip during October a couple of years ago just to see IllumiNations. I wasn't aware of Food and Wine at the time, or I certainly wouldn't have picked a Saturday evening. People were falling down/puking drunk all over the park. It was ridiculous. When I came back, I heard from multiple people on the DIS that I should have expected EPCOT to be a giant drunken frat party on a Saturday night during Food and Wine. That it's just how it is.

So, I can't fault WDW if they keep MK (the park most focused on little kids) primarily alcohol-free. At the same time, I wish people who plan to attend and know the rules would refrain from carrying in alcohol smuggled in a cup or recommending that others do so. Then maybe we wouldn't have such polar overreactions to a genuine question about whether alcohol is allowed.

I think BoG is closed during MNSSHP (and it's the only place in MK that serves booze).

Wow. Interesting thread. I wondered why it got to 5 pages. I, myself, like to enjoy an adult beverage during certain events in my life. Now that I do adult only theme park vacations, it has been more noticeable that the "taverns" in MK are anything but. At Disneyland in 2012, we had dinner at Blue Bayou and the menu simply "cried out" for wine pairings. I had ice water.

I am not attending MNSSHP in part because the MK does not serve alcohol of any kind. I would not want to "party down" ... But I do understand the OP's thought process. Hard ticket event that costs a lot and closes down the park to anyone without a ticket...possible cocktail area? It actually makes a lot of sense to me.

With that, the question was asked and answered.

We specifically booked BOG for 5:55p the night of our MNSSHP to enjoy a drink or two (with dinner of course) prior to the party... we'll hop over after spending the day at the F&W festival.

On party nights, BOG will only take ADRs from 4p-7p.

That's not during the party. Although you can get into the MK as early as 4:00 with just a party ticket, the party doesn't start until 7:00.
