Albinism and water parks

I'm planning a high school graduation trip for my younger brother who is albino. We've been to the World almost annually, so I'm looking for something different to do this time. Do Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have lots of shade? Are the queues out in the sun? We generally don't go to water parks at all to protect his skin, but if there's plenty of shade, we'd be ok with going in the morning, leaving around lunch, and coming back in the evening.

TL has more shade than BB due to theming, but a lot of the queues are still in the sun. I'm fair skinned and get burnt every time we go even with reapplying high SPF sunscreen every 2 hours.

Not sure if this will help, but maybe rent a cabana (if its in your budget). Then he will have a guaranteed seat in the shade

I am not albino but I'm about as close as you can get (platinum hair, very fair skin... you get the point! haha). I have a sun allergy that makes me allergic to UVA rays so I have to stay out of the sun as much as possible but with some preparation I can have just as much fun in the sun as my easy to tan husband! :D

I'd check out getting a rashguard swim top (basically a long sleeve swim top with spf, I saw lands end had some on sale recently).

Also I'd check out sunscreens that include Mexoryl SX. Sadly, I have only found this is Canada, but yay Amazon! Mexoryl basically protects the ingredient that blocks UVA rays. Without it, the ingredient that protects you from UVA is the first to go and hello burns (and bumps)!

Of course hats and trying to go in the mornings/evenings are also optimal.

I hope you guys have a wonderful trip!!! :)

Just finished my first trip to BB and TL.
Skip BB: long lines in the sun, short rides

A lot more shade in TL, shorter lines, more diverse rides too.

I am tannish brown and my friends who went with me in both parks are dark chocolate. I worn suntan lotion and they forgot to thinking their skin would protect them from the Florida sun. They got sunburned. The Florida ******s are cruel compare to the ******s in California and Texas. I recommend towels and coverings, Large umbrella, sun visors and constanly applying of sunlotion and dark sunglasses when he is on the beach. When swimming or sliding, keep in the water. In the lines, take a large swimming towel to ward off ******s.Buy a locker to rent there.

I'm fair skinned and sun sensitive. I don't do water parks (even time at the pool is at night or for one hour or less), there is not enough shade or sunscreen to keep me from sunburn. ( I am very careful just walking the parks in the fall and winter )

I can't even imagine trying it with someone who has albinism.

I would think renting a cabanna with only the occasional venture out to wait in line or ride would be the only option. Between entrance fee and the cabanna charge I'm not sure it would be worth it financially.
