We booked SW50 for our Skagway day on our May 30 departure and seeing your post prompted me to go look at ours. Sure enough... two of the five people in our group are no longer showing that excursion! We are a family of five split between two staterooms...and the three in one stateroom are still showing that excursion but the other two in the other stateroom are not. Our TA is going to check into it, an in the meantime, I'm looking for some other options to book on our own that are similar, but I'm having trouble finding one that is both the streetcars and the train. Lots of options for a minibus and train, but I loved the idea of the streetcar. Going to keep looking. I appreciate you sharing what you did, because I have no idea how long ago it had been deleted without me knowing!
Did you rebook SW09 (White Pass Scenic Railway)? I did the same, plus the SW19 Streetcar City Tour. Our TA spoke with Disney this morning and the agent there said that even though it was still showing SW50 for my husband and sons, that their's would eventually be cancelled and that they are systematically going in and removing excursions bc of issues with a few Skagway ones. She also confirmed that we got no notification of the removal and apologized. So! We are doing the Railway in the morning and Streetcar in the afternoon and doing lunch/Skagway in the middle. Just hoping that our SW09 stays there.
Fingers crossed!I just got off the phone with someone at the Skagway Street Car Tour company who explained that Disney just worked out a workaround with the Streetcar and Train to get that excursion going again, and that people should be getting emails shortly. She said it should be operable in "the next couple of weeks" (which doesn't really help our 5/30 departure, but could mean it would be in place by yours hopefully?). I called them because I wanted to know if the Street Car was still going to be a go. A poster in the FB group for our 5/30 cruise said that they spoke to a web agent today who said that the train only excursion is still showing as a go..... so I'm hopeful that my booking for SW09 and SW19 will be a great substitute for SW50 which appears to be making a comeback later this summer but not in time for our cruise. We will get a little longer Street Car tour, which I don't mind. Hope that is somewhat helpful!
I had the Yukon Expedition booked through Disney, but also had booked privately with Chilkoot Charters. I was so frustrated with Disney not notifying or updating us. I even emailed Shoreside Concierge and got no response. I moved to the bus-only tour with Chilkoot, who earned my business with their excellent and timely communication. I canceled my Disney excursion after not hearing back from Shoreside for weeks. Happy with my choice, but still frustrated by the lack of communication by Disney and the shoreside concierge team.
