Alaska question? Customs like key west?

On our wonder cruise out Florida we went to Nassau first then key west. At key west everyone had to go to theatre and go through us customs before getting off ship since we left us and came back through Bahamas.

I was wondering does this happen in Alaska? Since we leave Canada, do we enter US customs on the first Alaska port?
