OK Robin you've twisted my arm enough.

Sorry for the little "drama episode". Been trying to balance normal life (what ever that is) & dealing with parenting 3 teens that think mom & dad don't know anything & 2 senior mom's whose mental capacities are failing, I guess I was in a very vunerable state this week.

Robin has challenged me & said she's gearing up to "beat my butt" in the ES & pirate game. That did make me smile, but I'm not totally convinced I still want to do it. I have what ......about 75 more posts to think about it?? Hmmmmm

OK you men (Tom, Dave, Gary, etc.) , our thread is once again drama free & a "safe zone" for you to post!

Ooooh I just noticed that the countdown to the cruise is only 80 days away. Wow that doesn't sound like it's very far off! Oh my so much to do & Allen & I are actually leaving on the 9th so that's 10 days earlier.

Sorry to continue the drama.....

But just thought I would let you all know that DWs Mom (she's on the cruise with us) was recently diagonised with breast cancer.

They said it was a more agressive form, but they caught it very, very early. She'll be having surgery on May 11th to remove the cancer, some of the tissue surrounding it and the lymph nodes. After that she'll have chemo and radiation.

Of course, the treatment will be scheduled around our cruise to Alaska!

Anyway, keep her in your thoughts and send a little pixie dust Carolyn's way.

Wow Tom sorry to hear that....so glad they caught it early. I hope she is still up at the time to still travel. I wish I was on the Hawaii cruise...kids r in school so no way.

The medical field has come a long way when it comes to breast cancer when caught early...God and her guardian angle were sure looking out for her. As trying as this is....She must feel blessed that she caught it early.

How is your wife handling it! I will keep you all in my nightly prayers. and have DH and my son say a big fat blessing at Church tomorrow for your family and her. I would but wont be going tomorrow.

I have a friend on the repo cruise right know....she will give me the low down on Alaska on the wonder...she said they are still having the pirate night even in Alaska....Lucky stiff....it must be nice to have millions and cruise all the time.... and yes....millions.


she has said so far to be sure to have rain gear , umbrella and something else....will have to look. She is not a DISer so we will not see her posts here.

I think I am going to start my magnets today. I keep saying that but it never happens...life seems to get in the way.

I still have to decide about the FE gifts...Oh what Oh what to get.

Well, my DH likes sardines and my DBFF Barrett is an Anchovy fan (yuck!) so... I know of at least two people in the group who would be pleased .

I agree about Bin Laden, I hope they gave him a good Christian Burial, said a nice Mass for him, hooked him up with some bacon for the road and then will sit Shiva for him.

In all seriousness, my most sincere gratitude goes to every man and woman for the last ten years (including my oldest DSS a former Army Sargeant) who helped make that a successful mission. I hope it is the first step toward a more peaceful future for everyone the world over.

As for the magnets, I have had the graphics for them for over a year now (Thanks Tom and all the other DISigners but have yet to make a single one. I even have printable magnet sheets ready, willing and able to be transformed. Now, all I need is a couple of days to devote to the project and all will be good. I think I will have to make them for everyone in my group since most are not active here... yet

So besides Sharon and I did anyone else DL the Disney horn? It went off during the PTSA meeting tonight and everyone started laughing at me...they commented on how perfect that was for my ring tone...being well they have heard me talking about the DCL since my boys were 2 and 5...they are know 17 and 14....lol.....and yes...we have gone through grammar school, middle school and High school PTA together. We on the board work great together since we have been together for so long.
