Wow what a great way to start your birthday....is the cruise part of your birthday present?

We are cruising THIS MONTH!:yay:

You got it Andrew. Do you need one for anyone else in your party??

And don't worry about the 50 cents, people were just asking if they could
share the costs....I'm doing them cause I want to. :thumbsup2

Thanks Tom they look great...I still have the ones that Ken made hanging on the corner of my dresser mirror....along with my other lanyards....yours will be joining them:thumbsup2

Still yet to finish my FEs and still have so much work to do on them...have been doing summer cleaning...I want everything nice and organized when we get back.

By the way does anyone have any idea about when we go to the airport if we go through customs first or in LA when we catch our second flight into CANADA...HAVE NOT BEEN THROUGH CUSTOMS IN FOREVER AND AT THAT TIME IT WAS THROUGH THE DCL...pops sorry for the caps didn't realize it was on.

Hi All,

Thanks Tisza for helping clear up the confusion about us being on the FE list. Yes, we're on the list, but we're listed under Tisza as cabin 2100. I wanted the FE gift group to know that cabin 2100 is Disney4BB. :yay:

I have been an observer of this thread, but I think this is only my 7th post. Not enough to earn anything, unless there's an award for least posts. lol

Looking forward to meeting everyone. See you soon!

:dance3: We leave on Monday!! Canada & Alaska, here we come!! :dance3:

Hi Robin,

Sorry to be so nosy but when we left LAX to Vancouver, we hit customs upon exiting in Vancouver. Extremely easy and everyone gets shuttled down to customs. Lines may look horrendous but the officials do an amazing job and we were out of there within 10 min which included wait and being questioned.

Upon disembarkation, we spent 1 overnight and left very early the next morning. We went through customs (again into LAX) in Canada right after we put our bags to be screened. OK, let me get this straight:

Went to airport.
Waited for airline to open counters (we had a 6:30 am flight), opened counters, HAVE YOUR CUSTOMS FORMS FROM THE SHIP FILLED OUT - they are serious about this and if you lost it, they have them there but will not allow you to fill them out in line.
Put your bags in to be screened and proceed to customs. We had a 15 minute wait before they opened. But it was a breeze.

Either way, customs is really simple and not a hassle. In fact, the only time its been a hassle it seems is at LAX.

That's for early flights, if your later in the evening, the line might be a bit bigger but same procedure.

Also just to let you know, as you arrive in Canada, if you don't have reservations or booked with Disney, they do have a Disney podium where those that have transportation can easily see them (its right after the customs booths) and go right up to them. They were extremely visible. We went up to them as we didn't have reservations but the guy told us it would be cheaper to take a taxi directly to the port. And, they take credit cards. I think with Disney they quoted DH $35 pp (there were 3 of us) and a Taxi cost us $31 for all 3 of us. We missed a big taxi and got 2 big men and 1 big woman plus 3 big bags & 2 medium bags into the taxi. We used the credit card to pay and it was about a 15 min drive to the port. Very easy and painless.

Upon disembarkation, if you don't have transporatition, don't sweat it, that is also very easy, they have a line of taxis waiting. Just go to the taxi line and they have a cattle line of taxis. Also, even though the big taxis look like they will hold more than 4, THEY DO NOT. They have taken the last row out for suitcases and most of all the taxis will not hold more than 4. We tried but they really only do seat 4.

Sorry to keep hijacking your thread but if I can put anyone at ease, I like to help. Hope this helps someone. Sorry I won't be with you guys but you'll all have a blast. Enjoy!

Well its my moms, dads, and mine birtday present.

Hi All!

Oh Happy Day! Not only are the DH and I a mere 13 days from departure for the start of our trip, I finished all of the door magnets for my entire group's cabins and I finished assembling, packaging and packing all the FE's we are gifting. They completely filled a suitcase (I elected to do something for every individual person in our FE although I did package the couples items together).

I am a bit concerned that I will need to pack the DH and myself in basically two suitcases, and since I know things will be a bit bulkier (and we will need two full weeks worth of clothes) it might be a little bit dicey. Of course if I choose wisely, It might work out ok. A gold lamé speedo, a bowtie and hiking boots would be appropriate attire for the DH at Palo, right? :rotfl2:

I had so much fun making things that I seem to have gotten a bit carried away and I have a few extras... Like fifty or so of one or two items :-). So, if you are not in the FE but are in our group and we meet up you may find yourself spontaneously gifted, provided that you are proudly wearing your DISboards lanyard made by Tom of course.

And speaking of FE items... Please consider this my DISclaimer... I don't work for Bank of America (and neither does my DH or any member of my family) but even though they say B of A on them, the items were just too cool and useful NOT to include them in the FE. When you get your FE goodie you will understand.

Tomorrow I have to finish sewing the actual FE's themselves together. That should be fun! i am dying to see how they look finished.

Since it is now 2:39 AM PDT, I am thinking it might be a good idea to call it a night.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a "Wonder"ful day!

Tisza

DW is starting to get worried about driving the whole thing in 1 day (google maps says 18 hours, AAA TripTik says 16 hours), so now I'm trying to find a CHEAP motel along the way...maybe one that charges by the hour? ;)

If you're name is NOT on the "all passengers" tab of this spreadsheet, then I don't have a lanyard personalized for you.

If you're not on the list and WANT a personalized lanyard, let me know (here on the thread, PM, email) in the next 24 hours and I will make sure you have one.

I will have a bunch of non-personalized lanyard for those of you that are shy. :)

Last chance.....anyone.....anyone....:rolleyes1

Last chance.....anyone.....anyone....:rolleyes1

I would call AAA and tel them your route and they can tell you the hotels along the way :thumbsup2.

You can just stop along the way to stretch your legs at restaurants...and viewing areas along the way....what time are you starting on the road? It is a long drive so brawling it up staying in a hotel would be nice...but when you want to get there you want to get there....

We would get a hotel...be rested when you arrive instead of all warn out....comfort Inns are all over the place and are priced as such for travelers like you.....pirate:
