Alaska Earthquakes today?

I know Alaska has a lot of earthquakes I used to live there, there are always little grumblings here and there but someone emailed me that there was a 5.2 right outside of Dutch Harbour which is where my brother is.

I went to the AK Geology site and sure enough. Has anyone seen news on it today?

Moderate earthquake hits Aleutians
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A moderate earthquake struck the Aleutians this morning (Wednesday).

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says the five-point-four preliminary magnitude quake occurred at 1-01 a-m.

It was centered 39 miles west of Unalaska.

The tsunami warning center says the quake likely was felt at Unalaska but the center has received no reports of the temblor being felt or causing any damage.

A moderate earthquake, felt by many in Juneau, jolted Southeast Alaska early Tuesday morning. No serious damage or injury was reported.

The quake at 6:49 a.m. had a magnitude of 5.7, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center in Fairbanks. It was centered 57 miles west of Haines at a depth of five miles.

"Things got knocked off walls, but I think everything has been OK," said Julie Cozzi, Haines Borough clerk.

Judy Erickson of Haines, 75 air miles northeast of Juneau, said it was one of the biggest temblors she had felt in a long time.

"It sounded like a big gust of wind hit the window," Erickson said. "Then I started yelling, 'Earthquake!"'

Erickson said the quake caused her family's apartment on the third floor of the Alaska Indian Arts building to sway.

The quake also was felt in Sitka and numerous other communities.

Some Juneau residents reported cracked plaster and shaken wall hangings, but both local and state authorities said they had no reports of serious damage.

I talked to my other brother who works for the same company but in the lower 48 and he said there didnt appear to be any major damage. They got rattled pretty good apparently it was about 40 miles SW of where they are.
