Alaska Cruise for us DISers on RCCL Jewel of the Seas 6/12-19/2015 (Official Thread)

Daydreaming of this cruise is getting me through some rough days at work. We missed out on the Skagway train ride but hopefully we'll get another shot at it; we will be doing the whale watching and probably the salmon bake.
Mike and I are going to be in cabin 8574. This is our second cruise, the first was DisCruise 1.0.
Neither of us has been to Seattle so we plan to spend two nights pre-cruise and do a whirlwind tour, staying at the Moore.
Sooooo excited!

The Moore is just a few blocks from where I live. Pike Place Market is about three blocks away and the Space Needles is close by as well. You are pretty close to a lot at the Moore with it being downtown.

If one was going to book a zip-lining shore excursion, would one choose one of the options in Skagway or the one in Victoria? Discuss.

Thanks for the feedback Teresa! Speaking of feed....where's a good breakfast close by? Any other recommendations?

Thanks for this info Teresa. Very helpful!!!

Thank you, Teresa. My friends and I are going a couple of days early (6/10), and are going to be sightseeing in Seattle. We're staying at the Crowne Hotel.

What are the seating arrangements in the dining room like on this ship? The couple we were traveling with unfortunately had to cancel, so it is just Marty and me. If they automatically seat a party of two with other people, I'd much rather sit with Dis friends than total strangers.

At the Downtown location? If you are you'll be within about a block to our library should you want to see it. For anyone going to Pioneer Square and the Waterfront you can catch the Route 16 bus down on 3rd Avenue. Bus fare is $2.50 and be sure to get transfers. For the Seattle Center (the Space Needle) I would take Route 13.

For restaurants on the Water front there is Elliott's, The Crab Pot, Ivar's, Red Robin's and Anthony's.

Dropping in to update on the Skagway Excursion...we are just working out logistics with the tour company. I am still very optimistic we will be able to clear the waitlist, I just want to be 100% before I say for sure!! Thanks for your patience, shouldn't be too much longer.

Thank you for your efforts Tracey. I'll continue to check my email looking for a message from you and I won't uncross my fingers until then.

That is sad news, Tina. :(
