Alaska Cruise excursions booking help and leaving child on ship

We can book our excursions tonight for our Alaska cruise departing August 31. Does anyone have experience booking with outside vendors for the White Pass Train excursion in Skagway? And Rainforest Zip Lining in Ketchikan?

Also we have an 18 month old whom will be 21 months on our sailing. Does anyone have any experience or tips on how they handle doing an excursion and leaving your child that young on the ship? We are planning to just do one without her (the zip line in Ketchikan) but didn't know how it worked. Guess I'm just nervous about leaving her while we go do something just hubby and I. She has been on a cruise before and we did leave her in the nursery a few times when we went to the pool and mixology class, but she was napping each time.

We booked with Chilkoot Tours for the White Pass Train. Everything was done on-line and you pay in full at the time of the reservation. We don't travel for a couple of weeks, so I can't tell you about the actual excursion.

Can you tell me how much you paid per adult? Or is it on their website?

We are doing train up, bus back, dog musher's camp, and lunch. I want to say $210 each. I think it is on their website.

We used Frontier Excursions train ride up and van ride to Emerald Lake and back to Skagway. Prices are on their website.

also, out of all the places we've cruised, this would be the scenario i'd be most comfortable with in terms of leaving a little one (or any family member!) being that you are in the US and can use your cell hone easily etc etc. we went to alaska almost a year ago (no little ones!) and it was an amazing trip!

I'm not keen on leaving the ship without here but hubby wants one excursion for a few hours, which is understandable and I don't mind. Just makes me nervous. But we plan to only do zip lining and go back on the ship to get her then explore the town. I need to ask dcl or research here how the conte works from the nursery if needed.

We can book excursions tonight so I've been researching and trying to figure things out. It's so hard.
