Final destination is Rochester, NY....this is a surprise cruise for him. My husband doesn't like to leave home. We will celebrate 40 years of marriage and his 60th birthday, plus, our friends will be cruising with us and they both will retire in June...

BTW - you'll also pre-clear US Customs/Immigration at the Vancouver train station if you are taking the Amtrak Cascades train down to Seattle or Portland (or anywhere the route).

True... however you have the taxi cost/hassle of getting to the Vancouver train station and then somehow to the Seattle airport. There's also the slow ride to downtown Seattle meandering through Canada.

The Seattle Quick shuttle picks up at the cruise ship terminal and drops you off at the Seattle airport for $45 with a few optional stops at downtown hotels.

Oh, sorry, I was not suggesting one take the train to get to the Seattle airport. Really just random information in case anyone was taking the train (say, maybe, they lived in Seattle).

I am hoping to book the 1:48 flight to Rochester.. I don't know how long I should wait to book tho.. I will have to get 4 tickets ...

They say 2 months before departure is ideal.... possibly closer 3 months for the summer high demand season.
