ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

they return the credit to your credit card. My friend and I are going to have to be watching to see which card they apply it to, because whoever gets it owes the other $15.

I have been so busy that I didn't even notice I got credited. I called my TA and this was her response back.

i Kimberly:

I called Disney for you and they said that they refunded back $28.60 on 6/23 and $60.00 on 7/28 due to a reduction in taxes.

Have a great trip!

Tracy

i was wondering for those of you seeing credits--did you use a travel agent or book direct? i used a travel agent and did not get a confirmation email from dcl or credit:sad2:

i did, however, just finish our FE stateroom gifts  they were supposed to be gender neutral but as usual, i went one step too far when i added a little "bling" and now DH says it is no longer gender neutral. oh well. now i am going to try and wrap up the kids FE gifts and gifts for the women. btw--any females in the FE, please PM me your hair color if you have not already done so--i am making personalized gifts.

:cheer2: FE DONE :cheer2:

I am still working on mine.... and I am not making them like you:worship:

I have seen no credit here. Boo. And check today and our cruise is still showing "SOLD OUT" . We cruised in September and there was not many people, I'm a little worried about the crowds. And how crowded will the kids clubs be. THOUGHTS....

Being we are over Labor Day and the start of most schools in the northern part of the US, i don't think we will see overcrowding of the kids clubs. Sold out can happen given various conditions, a life boat station reaching capacity (even with open cabins), cabins full even with additional ship occupancy, or yes, a perfect distribution of guests to reach capacity. We have been on sold out cruises and have found some of the others not full actually feeling more crowded.

Just looking at our cruise meet, you can tell that the number of adults greatly outweigh the number of children onboard. There are quite of few couples traveling sans "little ones". This will cause the ship to appear full, because there simply are no more cabins, even if there is space in the lifeboats/kids' clubs. I think also that Alaska seems to be more of an "adult" cruise.

So, you are probably right about it there being less kids on this particular cruise.

I'm hoping the number of kids is lower because they are mostly back in school so DD may get a little more attention in the Kid's Club. On the Dream, it was so crowded, when we picked her up she was just wandering aimlessly alone through the club and several counselors passed her with no recognition what-so-ever.

I wouldn't compare anything with the Dream, i felt so bad for all the new cruise staff, i know they were trying. So many of them were doing their first DCL stint and of course the ships were full to the max every week.

We were on the Wonder when DD was 8, the cruise was sold out and she had a great time in the Club, she could not wait to go again when we booked on the Magic.

Our DD hasn't wanted to stay in the clubs by herself yet. She likes them but wants us to stay and play. I think it would help if she made a friend early on in the clubs or had a counselor buddy. We're luck if we get one Palo meal to ourselves. Luckily, we're traveling with extended family this time so they can help too.

Mention that when you check in and they are likely to help. Our DD is an only child so was very shy, they helped her make a few friends and she had a great time from then on.

Thanks for the tip! It didn't work on the Dream but we hope for better luck on the Wonder.

I really don't think our cruise is sold out. Having been on past Disney cruises where the ship was going into dry dock right after the last cruise, Disney (in the past) has started working on certain areas of the ship and have brought construction workers on board. So even though the ship looks like it is in sold out status, there might be blocks of rooms (i.e. deck 1 and 2) that are not being used by paying passengers, or they are starting with dry dock things on those lower decks.

Just my thoughts based on past experiences.

However, I will know for sure once we get to our first port because I will look at see what the actual ship passenger and crew count is and then that will tell me how full the ship is!

Hello everyone. It has been a crazy couple of weeks--seems like I meet myself coming and going. Hope everyone is doing good and getting excited. Hopefully I have time to catch up with you all next week. :goodvibes

Reading reports that merchandise is not being replenished so doubt anything will be left for our cruise. :(

I am so not a happy camper if they don't bust out the merchandise.

I will definitely be letting disney know it too!

I can't believe that they wouldn't have reordered in the middle of the season knowing things were starting to get low. Poor planning. :sad2:

Disney plans so carefully to make sure your money stays with them that I am surprised at this ~ if in fact they don't replenish.

A friend ran the Princess 1/2 marathon at WDW a couple years ago and the same thing happened with the merchandise. She said Disney gave participants order forms to order any merchandise they would have purchased and had it shipped to their home for free. It would be better than nothing, but haven't heard of this being an option yet either.

Many folks have recommended finding out how much each credit card charges for international transaction fees, but I can't seem to find that information when I look at my accounts online. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

My husband just called the 1-800 #on the back of our card and asked a rep. It really does make a difference and we opened a card with no fees!

I think the port pins that had an edition limit of 1000, so those won't be replaced. I really haven't had a lot of time to talk to Lisa this week to see what kind of response she got from DCL about the merchandise after the 7/26.

Rick or Tracey did you all have any damage from the storm yesterday. Thankfully we didn't, I was out driving between our stores during it and it was crazy. Rick, I drove past the Shell on Bardstown Road right after the billboard fell on their canopy. Most of the power was out from downtown all the way through the Highlands. Seemed like almost every street I was looking down had massive trees blocking the roads. Alan said there are over 40 schools that don't have power right now--wonder if school will start tomorrow like it is supposed to. My heart goes out to the 5 people's famlies that were killed at the Indiana State Fair. :sad1:

Welcome!!!
Loved the deal, but when I checked it looks like you have to buy the coupon book for $99. Is that correct?

Hi Staffieri,

Glad that you checked out Era. Yes the coupon book did cost us $99.00 but the savings still amounted to $180.00 so we thought it was a great deal. I can't wait to stand on a glacier!!!:yay:
