ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Oh No! Say It Aint So!:confused3

I will be one unhappy camper if they don't get the stores restocked by the time we get there.

I just went to Sam's Club and got my 3 $100 gift card (with the bonus Disney Store $10) today! So I am ready to shop til I drop!:rotfl:

I like to collect pins and have $100 set aside just for the port ones that I read about in another thread. Ah Well. Gift Card will go to good use weather on the DCL or at WDW/DL

I also found out yesterday they didn't go through Tracy Arm because of visibility.

Looks like the Millennium is in the Tracy Arm today and the Wonder is just south of the Sitka Peninsula, Carnival Spirit is a few miles ahead of her. Guess as long as we are cruising alone the glacier region en route north wouldn't matter to me if was Tracy or another section.

I would much rather spend the day where visibility was good. I think that was a smart move, it was just one I never considered

Seeing a glacier from the ship is awesome ~ especially when the glacier calves. So hoping for good visibility either way!:thumbsup2

I am praying for good glacier views, a few good whale sightings from the ship, a bear or two and a bunch of eagles. The icing on the cake ~ a moose!

I am enjoying the pictures everyone is posting all over - here and on cruise critic! It just makes me antsy to get there but then I know it will go all too quickly!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Getting ready to be sure I have all my FE picked up. I went back to get the balance today and the ones I picked originally were gone! Yikes....so need to make adjustments.

Since we are Mooseketeers, the least Mickey could do is find us a moose:rotfl::rotfl:

Where can you see where all the ships are? Do you have a link?

Hubby was up closer to Fairbanks a couple weeks ago and kept texting my pix of moose so hoping they travel farther south where we will be in a few weeks. :)

Did he have a good trip? Is Fairbanks near Anchorage? I gotta check the map out. When I was in Anchorage in 2007 for a Hawaiian Civic Club convention, someone reported seeing a number of moose (I didn't get to see them).

SO heres keeping my fingers crossed that they will travel south!

Paula ~ closing the FE list today so i should be able to print out the final ~ tomorrow? Then I can finish this weekend.:yay:

Here are the FE hangers.

Just passing on some information from my friend lisa, who is on the Wonder right now.

Wow no Tracy Arm....just hope we get to see one of the glaciers from the ship.
Hoping Disney has a chance to restock the ship with merchandise I wont be a happy camper!
I use to love going to WDW resorts and buying resort merchandise like mugs and shirts that were specific to that resort but that is getting harder and harder. Disney likes to have everything the same these days at each of the resorts.

It used to be fun to shop in the Disney Store too. I think they miss a lot of opportunities by not marketing more to adults. You are right Bob, I'd buy more resort specific clothing and knick knacks. The DVC clothes they had out this summer were yucky:confused3

There is a tradition in Skagway that a ship paints a rock on their first visit :artist:

Here is what we will be looking for, it may be visible from the ship if Carnival is not in port at the same time. :3dglasses

Great Job Tracy! Those are really cute!

Mine is gonna be so generic - just a winnie the pooh one.

If we will be able to see the rock, which direction should we be looking? I am guessing it will be on the starboard side when we dock? I gotta add that to my list of things to watch for. Thanks!

This is from our 2009 tip. Skagway. They say the higher up on the rock the more the captain is liked by the crew.

NOW I know what everyone gets so excited about! :cheer2: It was so cool :cool2:and I am so absolutely excited to go:yay:!

Paula, thanks for the tip about getting the online check in done. It was really great to have things "personalized" as they were!:thumbsup2
