ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Ok, all of you Silver Castaway Club members. Tomorrow is your day, unless you are west of the Eastern Time Zone. Then, it starts tonight. So, you Californians, be ready at 9:00 pm. I hope those of you in Hawaii have already started booking your Palo and excursions reservations, as your booking window opened at 6:00 pm, your time. Good luck everyone.
91 days!!!

Oops this is for tomorrow. Thought today was the 31st. Sorry about that. But at least now everyone still has a chance to start booking on time.

Good luck to everyone booking tonight:)

Working on my June trip to WDW today. I found a great deal through the Entertainment book for Cirque tickets. Haven't seen it since 2005, so I am excited about that--it's an awesome show:banana::banana::banana:

Well, I guess you all are talking about hair color, so I will play to. Mine is Black with streaks of Silver sparkles. I made a deal with myself when I was 26, that me and Miss Clarol WOULD NOT BE FRIENDS!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm with you - I've earned each & every one of these grey hairs, dagnabit! Just hoping I go grey as slowly & as well as my mom....

Finally got our Harv & Marv whale watching tour booked for Juneau: 11:30 - 3:35 - with a quickie stop (10-15 min) by Mendenhall Glacier for pix. Hoping we'll have time (& good enough weather) to go up the Mt. Roberts Tramway in the morning before our tour - and maybe some shopping. Planning on a big breakfast & not much for lunch... just in case our tummies don't deal with the small boat well! :D

That leaves our last excursion - the Best of Skagway Disney tour, which, being newbies, we can't book until 16 June... hoping there will still be 4 spots left!

We did reach Gold Castaway status on the Dream last week so were able to book most of what we wanted while driving home Sunday. Still no Palo Tea available but did get brunch on first at sea day (had to book 2 tables of 2 instead of 1 table for 4) and Palo dinner on last night of cruise.

If anyone has questions about what's available or excursion times, please let me know and I'd be happy to pay the favor forward as so many did for me.

Thanks for the info. I will be booking tonight. There only two of us for Palo dinner, of course thats hoping my daughter is playing well in the clubs. Thanks for the info on the tours. Could you check on the following ( no worries if you can't)
The times for the White pass Railway & Trail camp.

I am still trying to nail down what we will be doing. It is so hard that Disney charges adults at 10. My son is twelve and if we go outside Disney he gets charged child prices.

***And that would be great if our daughters could meet.***

Having such a hard time planning out our tours. Any thoughts or advice would be great. It will be my mom, DS 12 and DD5 going. The only problem is Disney charges my son as an adult, if we go outside Disney he charged at a child. That can mean big savings.

Skagway causing me the most craziness. Trying to decided between these....(any advice and thoughts)

*On our own Liarsville with transportation $44 and $22 ( No Characters)
then go on Summer Dog Sled wheel cart on own $129 and $89

OR
Disney White Pass Railroad & Liarsville (No Characters, short time) $168,$85

OR
Disney Liarsville $89 ,$49 son has to pay adult prices (But private and characters
then Summer Dog Sled on our own $129 , $89

IN Juneau

My mom & son are doing a Glacier Trek. So that leaves me and Becca on our own. Don't know if I should play a whale trip. Such mixed reviews with little kids. People said even though they saw whales it was hard for the little kids to see them. Ideas on if we go, who with.
Otherwise thinking taking public transportation to the GLACIER $26.

Thanks any ideas welcomed.

I BOOK TONIGHT AT 9PM. HOPING TO GET THE TOURS AND PALO MEALS.

THANKS!!!!!

We are sailing August 30th too! Good to know Palo might still be open tonight. I'm in Hawaii, so that's 6pm I think my time for ressies.

Quick Palo question for those of you who have already booked...

Are you only allowed to reserve 1 Palo dinner ahead of time? Someone mentioned in another thread the Captain's Gala may be moved from the Ketchikan night since so many people are getting on-board late and missing it, but I would hate to miss it too if we have Palo booked that night so was going to reserve two dinners to be safe, but it's not letting me online.

Unfortunately, you can only book 1 dinner, 1 brunch and 1 tea ahead of time. And no, you can't not do one to get 2 of another. But, what you can do, which you already know, is to keep your current reservation and try to book another one onboard. Who knows, you might get 2 Palo dinners.

Good luck.

I know how EXCITED we all are! I started checking yesterday too (just in case:lmao: ~ don't know what I was thinking when I know it was for today).

But thanks for the cheers:cheer2:

Way to go on the GOLD! I am planning to do the dream in combo with my Disney Marathon for 2013 (hoping for the 4 day) so anxiously awaiting the schedule for 2013. That still leaves me in Silver so maybe I will also have to do another Alaska:rotfl2:

Were you able to book both your brunch and your dinner? I was told by the Disney person on the phone that you could only book one. I am hoping for dinner on 09/03 for dad's birthday and also brunch on the last sea day for the three of us to celebrate ~ first choice is the brunch because I still need to talk him into the jacket or dress shirt:rotfl:

Right now I am seeing Palo dinner available every day for a party of 2 and some availability for a party of 4.

Thanks for the heads up on the dinner availability.

So I am guessing us party of 3 would book under the party of 4 since it sounds like the tables are either 2 or 4?

Yes I was. As confirmed above, you can book one brunch, one tea, and one dinner. Would like tea for just the ladies but still not available. We originally booked Palo dinner for 8 PM on last night but then rememebred we'd have to pack and get the bags out so moved it to 6. Was going to move it to Juneau night until we realized that is pirate night. If DCL shuffles the Captain's Gala, we'll just adjust.

Thanks for the heads up on the dinner availability.

I believe so.
