ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

We just paid off our balance yesterday. :cool1:

My DH and I are really looking forward to our "something different" trip. We try to plan a trip somewhere other than WDW each year, even if it's an extended weekend somewhere.

I'm really interested in hearing the feedback from those who are taking this cruise earlier, on both the cruise and the excursions. Looking forward to taking this journey with you all! :)

Carol~~Congrats on being PIF:cool1: It's always a nice feeling to have the balance behind you:)

Booked my flights today!!!! Louisville to Seattle Sunday Aug 28th and returning on Sept 7th. Got all 5 of us on the same flight using Southwest rewards that we got for applying for the Chase SWA Visa card. They would have been $471.00 each:cool1::cool1:

Now to wait until April 28th to see if we can get the Club Intrawest Vancouver from DVC.

Still haven't decided on excursion 1 though:upsidedow

I am getting really excited! Only a month and a couple days and my daughter will know!
I can't wait to read reviews from people who come back from the first one so we know if/how they are doing things like pirate night, etc... !

Me too! I just took the plunge and booked a private excursion in Juneau instead of trying to coordinate through DCL. Since we have different levels of Castaway status cruising, it may be a bit difficult to get everyone on the same excursions booking weeks apart.

Hi. I'm Pam...New to the DIS Board. How can my husband and I join the group for Alaska 8/30/11? #7570

David (54)
Pam (47)

4th Disney Cruise to celebrate 11th wedding anniversay 9/3/11

Would enjoy keeping up on new info about the cruise and meeting
some of you on the cruise. Thanks!

Gotcha on Page 1! :woohoo:

Congrats on all the cookie sales. YEAH!!! Have a great time on your Cruise. And how old are the kids your bringing to Alaska?

My DD is 14

Wonderful to know there some kids going. My little DD will almost be 5 and I know she will love to know there other gild in the club.

Thanks for the info on the shirts ladies, but how do I get the image? And I too would have paid to get them. The shirts look great and its always nice for someone with computer skills to do it.

Now that I am back..my DH willbe able to fix the image.

I sent in the majority of my cruise balance last week.:banana:

I am hoping that my friend Stace will go and be Doris's room mate. (Des, I haven't told her that you are on the cruise...maybe that would be the the tipping point!) Still trying to figure out my flights and where to stay...................I have the free flights on SWA that I can use into Seattle and one of the flights changes planes in Phoenix~~which works out perfectly if Stace comes. But have any of you all tried to book a free ticket on their site since they did all the changes:scared1: It's crazy.

It's a beautiful day here, hope you all are enjoying the day:)

That would be so much fun!

Well I am back..cookie sales are done - DD made it to 2037 boxes
Our cruise is all done....it was nice but sad with the missing CM.

We just got a new litter of foster puppies yesterday but hopefully other then that, things will begin to calm down a bit here.

I have updated page 1 with all of the info I have recieved so far. If I am missing anyone, please let me know...the last 3 months have been a blur!

How sad - the Wonder has lost one of its crew and today the search was called off. Somewhere between Cabo and LA after a phone call with her boyfriend she went missing :scared1:

I expect we will hear the whole story in the next few days :confused3

I was on the cruise last week when she went missing. It was very sad. Unfortunately, I do not think there are a lot of details that will be released for quite some time if at all.

All we were told was that she failed to report for her scheduled time in the kid's club. They searched the ship several times and called for her twice over the ship's speaker system. The captain came on Tuesday evening about 6 to inform us that she had not been found and that they would continue the search.

There are some things that passengers noticed that they were searching but since that has not been announced by DCL, I am not going to post them.

We were heading towards our first port of PV and were not yet past Cabo when she went missing. I was told we were less then 6 miles from land which is why the Mexican authorities were called in and we did not turn around.

I did see that it was announced today that there was no foul play found and the search was called off.

A very very sad situation indeed. I continue to pray for Rebecca and her family every day.

Welcome back Des:)

Congrats to Tori on her sales~~that's a ton of boxes:)

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. It is a beautiful sunny day~not a cloud in the sky. I do need to head downtown to work for a bit sometime today, other than that I am looking forward to a nice quiet weekend:goodvibes

Have a great weekend:flower3:

Tonight (Sunday Apr 3) from 8-9pm your local time, Recebba's home town, her Family, the Wonder and Disney Well Wishers worldwide are lighting a candle for Rebecca.

There is still no further news to determine just what happened, her family have added everything they can, her friend on the phone discussed the phone call and the ship's closed circuit tv shows Rebecca on the phone and walking away after, it does not show her again. Our hearts here go out to her family, nothing can be worse than losing your child.

In Skagway I have a tour booked with dyea dave. dyeadavetours dot com/tours.htm

I booked the carcross, yukon & Emerald lake.

Juneau it will be whale watching (not Disney's)

and Ketchika I will book with Disney for the Bearing se crab fisherman tour.

This will be my second time iwth Dyea Dave. The frist time was 2009 and we did the Trip to Dyea. In my pics that is where we say the bears.

Tracy, how much is it additional to take the train instead of the van? Also are you planning on adding the lunch?

Wow one month until final payment date! Its getting close now! I plan to pay off this week and next :) Been working hard for this one!

I would also like to thank the FE person for adding us to the list, and for knocking 2 years off my age - Holy pixie dust this cruise made me YOUNGER! Woot! :)
(I am honestly not concerned about the mistake, and actually thankful to only be 37 and not just 1 year off the big 4-0!). lol.

Sorry! Do you want me to correct it? :rotfl2:

Spent hours today working on excursions...............I think I FINALLY Have them narrowed down to 2 per port! :rolleyes1 I don't know why I am being so indecisive............

The train is what ever the train charges you buy the ticket right from them I think it is like around $90 for one way.

So far there is only 3 of us and I see he changed his web site. When I booked they did not have the lunch thing. I would love to add the lunch if I could. I will have to email him and see how many he has for this group if it is just my family or if more have booked.

I sent him an email yesterday and he was really prompt with his reply:) He suggested on the train to decide later if we wanted to add it ,taking the van there and maybe taking the train back. It was $81 to ride the train. There are 5 of us (still hoping for 6). I told him I hoped to get back to him about adding us later in the week. My mom is in Boston right now and she'll be back home Thursday. $10 for the lunch add on was very reasonable.:goodvibes

We did the train the first time we were there in 2006, it is well worth doing. When you get back to him let him know that my group (of 3) and your group are together (Tracy Van Der Voort) and that some of the group will do the train and some wont. I have 5 more in my group but they have not made up the minds on what they are doing (first timers LOL).
