DH and I are scheduled to take the Alaska cruise that leaves on Labor Day. We already have 2 nights pre-cruise booked at the Hampton Inn on Robson (wanted to make sure those were booked early due to holiday weekend!), but we haven't booked flights yet. Originally thought we might go to Seattle first to visit family and then take the train to Vancouver, but that is looking too complicated, so now thinking we will just fly round-trip to and from Vancouver. We live in SW Ohio, so non-stop flights do not seem to be available; we could fly out of Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, or even Indianapolis, but Chicago is too far to drive! Any recommendations on airlines (we usually fly on Southwest, but they don't fly to Vancouver, apparently)? Is it feasible to fly home on disembarkation day or should we plan to stay over and leave the next day? What are transportation options to and from the cruise terminal? For a week-long cruise + 2 days of sightseeing, we will have a fair amount of luggage to drag around. Any advice or suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
