Alaska ~ 8/13/12 ~ Midnight Sun Mouseketeers!

Omgosh, love bugs!! I will never travel to Florida again in September after our encounter with them then. I hear they are bad in Sept and late May. They get everywhere, and absolutely have no fear when you swat at them. We were staying at All Star Movies, and they even got through our door and were all over our curtains. Ok, rant off from love bugs! (lol)

Glad you had fun on your cruise. I'm so envious you get to go before our long wait until Alaska. I keep trying to think of a way to go again before then, but just can't justify the cost and the hubby is against it. He thinks 1 cruise a year is enough, and I am like...um, no way! ;)

Our kids get out here late as well, We don't get out until June 23rd. Disneyland gets so crowded in the summer, plus they just opened up two new rides this week (Ariel's Grotto and the new Star Tours), so I don't think we'll be heading to the park anytime soon. I just can't handle it when it's too crowded.

Hope all is well with you guys!

Last day of school here is in two days. I was actually considering a day at Disneyland to try to see the new stuff, but read that there was a 5 hour line for Star Tours and over 2 hour wait for Little Mermaid. I'll wait 2 or 3 years to see those rather than stand in a long line.

Disneyland Hotel also has a new waterslide and a couple eateries that I wanted to check out. Too expensive to stay for one night, though. I am sure all that stuff will be there later for me.

It feels like centuries before our cruise! I hope it is worth the wait.

It's June Gloom time here in southern California. I guess it's natural air conditioning, but it's hard to complain when the rest of the nation is sweating out the heat.

Did you see the latest special offer by DCL? Kids sale free for Mexico in the Fall 2011, even Thanksgiving week! I think I may have my hubby interested in that one, and so I'm looking it up today to see what's available. Can I justify 2 cruises in 1 year? I think so, yes! ;)

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi Stacy: That KSF to the Mexican Riviera over Thanksgiving is a great deal! Are you going to go for it? Just think....no cooking! The Turkey Cruise reports on the East Coast all say that by THanksgiving the ships are decked out for Christmas too. So that would be a double bonus. :)

I agree it seems like this cruise will happen way a long time from now!

we have signed up for the Aug 13 cruise and are very excited. There will be my daughter Heather, her son Jackson Age 3 and my self Elaine. We live in So CA and this is our first cruise. We are in 7062.

Joe, I just read a review on bad rooms on one of the boards. they said room 2653 on dcl was very noisy. I know your stateroom is further away but thought I would pass this information on to you.

Hopefully the room will be ok. The room next to us has good reviews and we are away from the one with the bad reviews. Thanks for the heads up.

Joe

Hello fellow Cruisers!

We are thrilled to be joining in on the Alaskan fun! I have yet to read through the posts yet (just that excited!) but I thought I would introduce the family!

Thanks for the information. We will be turning off telephone, definitely no computer. Heather will tell her office "I am unreachable" . We are on vacation.

I've been watching the weather forecast for Alaska. It is going to be 70's in Juneau today. Hopefully the August tours will report back on weather and sights when they get back. I've become obsessed with checking the dis boards daily; it is filled with great tips.

Thanks Elaine! I'll start a list of volunteers to head up things and put it on the front page. As we move forward, we'll need volunteers to be in charge of (if there's an interest) an FE Exchange, lanyards, cruise meet, etc. So if anyone wants to agree to spearhead something, flip me a PM or post a message on the thread. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
