My lovely fiance and I are arriving in Disney on May 15th at around noon, I have managed to make reservations for all of our meals since we're on the premium dining plan and on that first night we are scheduled for a carriage ride at PO and dinner at Le Cellier...BUT...yes this is where you all come in :)

I don;t know what to do for that lunch, first thought was just eat at Boma after we check into our room...but I somehow feel we can do better than that haha...

Any suggestions? Please? Maybe? :confused3

Boma doesn't serve lunch.

What places are you already doing?

What time is your carriage ride?

where are you staying? I hope at POR, because the carriage ride there IMO is nothing to write home about. What I am saying is, if you are staying there fine do it....but if you have to travel to get there to do it for 30 minutes....I'd take a pass.

My favorite place to have lunch as soon as I get there is Crystal Palace.. it really puts me in the disney mood.. but.. if you are looking for something nice, and perhaps at EPCOT so you don't have to bounce around maybe eat in France? It's really a nice restaurant!

Hello Jman. We're using the premium plan this September and chose restaurants based on where we're going to be at the time. You mentioned a carriage ride at PO which is close to Downtown Disney and there are great places to eat lunch there. The way I interpret your post you're tallking about lunch on arrival day, correct? If so I wanted to point out that on the premium plan you don't get lunch on day one, just dinner. I suppose if you pushed the issue they would probably allow you to do it, but in Disney's brochure it states that day one is dinner, then the last day is breakfast and lunch.

As far as this goes the rep's that I have talked to at Disney have all said the only requirement on the meal plan is that since we are staying for 6 nights we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 6 days or 18 total meals and combined with our free Planet Hollywood vouchers (not great I know but I've got the vouchers so we're gonaa use them lol) and that they can be used in any combonation, so if we dont use a meal one day then we can use it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, on another (I asked literally 5 different rep's on the phone to be sure of this :3dglasses ) thus we end up with...

Monday (Wandering, Wishes) - L, D

Tuesday (MK) - B, L, D

Wednesday (AK & Cirque) - B, L, Planet Hollywood

for lunch you might want to try ohanas...we had a FABLOUS dinner there...im not quite sure if they do lunches but something to look in to...there is a list of all the resturants included in the package..you might want to cross out the no's...and put ? but questionable..and star by ones you really like..then look into location cusine etc,
Hope this helps
Nicole

Ohana's is not open for lunch.

Our two "not to be missed" that you don't have on the list are Artist Point and Grand Floridian Cafe.

I had forgotten about the grand floridian cafe..... thanks

Any other ideas for those gaps I have up there?

Something we always do is go to Downtown Disney that first evening. In your case you could go after arrival and eat somewhere over there, maybe Fultons?? I do not know if they are open for lunch. Other than that I would suggest Le Chefs de France in Epcot. It is great too.

Ok, I'm going to try my hand at this suggestion thing... :woohoo:

For Days 1 and 6 lunch:

Grand Floridian Cafe - Excellent suggestion. I also recommend them.

Boatwrights - In the Riverside, the menu is great if you like Southern Comfort Food. A personal favourite of the Madam.

And if you're going to be in Epcot for dinner you might also want to go for lunch...
Teppanyaki- Entertaining and delicious. And maybe something a little outside of the ordinary as well.

Biergarten- So good, IMO, it hurts. ;) Plus the band plays, you get to sing German drinking songs... it sets a nice, fun, light-hearted tone for your whole trip.

For Day 7 dinner:

Fun:
Ohana- Good times are had by all. Great food. The view of MK is beautiful, not to mention the proximity to the Tambu Lounge. :rotfl:

1900 Park Faire- Oh sure, it's a Cinderella thing, but one last look at a Princess couldn't hurt. Plus, amazing buffet spread including the wonderful Strawberry Soup. Yum.

Romantic:
Yachtman's Steakhouse- Indulge yourself one last time. Upscale, fabulous, and great for just the two of you.

Citricos- Often overlooked in favour of California Grill, among others, this is a beautiful restaurant in, IMO, the most beautiful resort. Nothing says romantic like Victoriana.

I hope that's a help! Have a wonderful time.

Thanks a ton Madam!

I am leaning toward Grand Floridian for lunch the 1st day...most definitely!

The one thing I do know is I have to fit Beaches in..... :earboy2:
