even such simple statistics are wrong. 9 out of 10 drivers in my area are in the bottom 10 percent of ability, whether it is physical or mental...

Well, I HOPE this is a "joke" post.

Mathematically, when talking about the average of anything, half is going to be below and half is going to be above.

However, if that has to be pointed out to someone, we can guess to which half they belong.

I've been to Florida, them drivers are crazy and color blind. They alone would make up a huge chunk of that 50% of bad drivers. They have no idea what a yellow light is and 50% of them don't know what a red light is either.

Depends if you are talking mean or median. I am assuming that the size statistic, for example, is the mean and is thus skewed by people on the far extremes.
