Most guests seem to have devices with them that have an alarm clock function. The time is correct on them and guests know how to use them, that wasn't so with the old alarm clocks and the time always seemed to be incorrect. For guests that require a old style clock, they can request one.
We sit one of our iPads displaying a clock in the bedroom when we go to bed. IMO not a really big deal.

My favorite is the alarm clock going off when I didn't set it, because the prior guest set it for some ungodly hour (like 3am).
I am all in favor of alarm clocks being removed. Leave me a plain wall clock and I can set all the alarms I need on my smart phone. And for those without smartphones there is always the option to set up a wake up call with guest services, no?
On my first visit Guest Services was giving me wake up calls at 3 am even though I said I never made them. We had to unplug the phone.
I don't get it, a digital alarm clock is less than $10. What is DVC saving? How cheep can they get?
Right... And I hate having to pull out my phone to look at the time.I don't get it, a digital alarm clock is less than $10. What is DVC saving? How cheep can they get?
but why??? Just leave the darn alarm clock in there and there is no need to get an app and prop up your phone and hope it doesn't fall...If it's a traditional phone, I can see how that would be an issue. I wouldn't want to pick it up and fiddle with it, either.
The smart phone app displays a digital clock all night, with an override so the phone doesn't go to sleep. As long as you have it plugged in and propped up against something, you can't tell it isn't a standard clock.
What a waste of money.... No need for clocks in rooms these days. Would prefer not to pay for these through annual dues.

Sorry I can't see my phone when I wake up in the morning. Maybe I am old fashion but I want a alarm clock.
