Alamo: upgrading car class / vacation package

Hi everyone,

I've purchased an Orlando-bound vacation package (flight, car rental, hotel) through an agency. I called Alamo to see if I can upgrade from the midsize/intermediate (Corolla) that is part of the package to a fullsize but the rep. said we have to do this at the counter.

When I priced out the two car classes for the exact same dates as our package, there's a ~$13 difference.

My questions are:

1. Is the $13 difference really what I should expect to pay at the counter?
2. As an Insiders member, should I still do an online check-in if I want to do an upgrade at the airport?

Thank you very much for the help!

No the $13 may not be what you actually pay. Depends on demand. If it's slow you could be asked for a lot more money. If it is slow it might be cheaper.

At the counter they are likely to want you to pay $x per day for an upgrade. I would expect it to cost more than $13 total for your rental. Perhaps even $13 per day. It is hard to say how much they will charge until you actually get there. The good thing about Alamo is you get to pick your car from the mid size isle. Sometimes they have larger cars, but mostly not. Even still, you can pick a vehicle that suits you if the upgrade is cost prohibitive.
