Does it seem strange to anyone else, that when you checkin online for your car with Alamo (which is what I will probably end up doing), you just waltz into the carpark, pick a car and drive off!!!!

We've prepaid fuel, so I'm guessing they all are fully gassed-up??

Will there be (nice!!) people around to grab a car seat off (for DS4 - turning 5)???

The driving itself (on the open road) is not worrying me too much, but I am terrified of getting out of the parking lot!!!!

Thanks you guys!!! Not long to go!!!:thumbsup2

There is an office were you pick your car up which had a couple of people in it, they said all our details hadn't gone on but only took a couple of mins to clear up. The cars are filled with gas and there is a person as you go out of the car park who checks your license before you are let out. We thought it was worth doing as the queue for people waiting in the airport to sort cars out was quite a long one.

The cars are all in their different categories and the staff just look at which you have paid for and direct you to them and you are able to choose which you want, I would imagine they would sort out your car seat as well.

Thanks for this link, I'm going shortly and want to check in online with Alamo, it puts my mind at rest that everything should be taken care of.

We are picking 2 cars up and have 4 kids between us so the quickness of it will be a lot better for keeping them happy

Just done our online check-in with Alamo which all seemed straightforward. I have printed off the full agreement as requested so my paperwork folder has just got a bit thicker but heh-ho:)

The more I can do online and avoid the queues the happier I will be. One question...are the car keys already in the cars??

Under 2 weeks now and counting:banana:

Decided to do it! Fairly painless, although my printer cocked up the first page, but I think it's ok.

Just hoping it's obvious where to grab a car seat. The platinum package also has a GPS, so I guess you get that there too!?

MFP i being really tight here..but, have you considered buying a car seat for your son rather than renting as the cost is amazing esp over 3 weeks?

my plan...
you fetch the car leave dw with ds and let them get on the ME...ds will love it cartoons all the way its v magical, you pop get car, run to walmart, buy car seat/water/snacks what ever, meet at GF.
you ll arrive about the same time, and thats $300 you can spend on ds, for an hour seperated!!
we did this in 2008, we needed 2 seats for ds and dd who were 8 and 5, dh got water etc, saved us a fortune, even on ddp.

just an idea....
